Smoking/Non Smoking Room option should be given. And nearer the lifts, the noise of the high speed lifts can be heard quite a bit. Other than these, the hotel was a good facility and we were quite impressed. The room in itself was really nice--good view and neat. There was a strong smoking smell (or freshener?) which made it slightly uncomfortable. The metro station is about 5 minutes walking distance either side and taxis are readily/always available. A really good hotel compared to the price paid--quite impressed overall. No unpleasant events during our stay. ...

Hotel needs an uplift. Hallways and rooms are tired looking and need some better maintenance and housekeeping. Staff is friendly if a little poorly trained. I was put on smoking floor even though my request was for non smoking. Hallway and room reeked of tobacco smoke.

I have stayed here several times because of the location and most of the staff are very friendly. The rooms could do with modernization; I stayed in a luxury room but in terms of value for money it exceeds many others that you would pay more for. The room service quality is exceptional, especially the local thai delicacies.

I have stayed here several times and have always found it great value for money. Great location, good buffet breakfast but rooms are getting a little tired. I cahnged rooms without any fuss and got a great room so its worth changing if your not happy.....only thing is all the rooms have a stale smoke smell. Otherwise good value as always.

The rooms in comparison with others I have stayed at is great. The reception staff were very good at the beginning when I went to check in for the group of people I was responsible for before their arrival. On the whole they were polite but I suggest that their people's skills can improve somewhat. The rooms were great except that some of the rooms had their hot water system malfunctioned. The service people were quick to respond but then it malfunctioned again. Maybe the maintenance of services can be better. I rate this hotel one of the better ones in BKK and I will stay there again

I saw many negative comments from the reviews before I came but I didn't have the same feeling for my trip. I think most of the compliants are due to the booking, whether it is a group/tour booking or a personal booking. For example, the breakfast for the group booking is different from that of mine. My general impression with the hotel is positive except that the design of the bath room is really poor and much water leaked out from it after bathing. Overall, the hotel is value for money.

Checked in into one of the rooms on the 19th storey. Rooms was clean and neat, Thumps Up! The downside of my room: Air-conditioner wasn't in proper working condition. TV wasn't working. The carpet outside the bathroom was wet (Always). There's only a few pieces of tissues left in the box. I guess it was just my luck, what do you think? Overall, I'd give (3.5/5)

The front desk staff were the worst I have ever experienced. It took 3 hours to check in. They were rude and unfreindly.

Room for improvement for the receptionists. Try to smile more, and acknowlegde your guests even if you are busy with others so that we won't feel like invisible. Check in by bookings thru agent are on ground floor only and if you happen to co-incide with group check ins, you will probably finish half a pack of cigrettes before its your turn. Other than that, quite pleased with the hotel room. Location not really near any MRT and past 8pm, no more street hawkers but there's one 7-11 5 mins walk away.

I have been very disappointed in the size of Deluxe room (if that was really a Deluxe room) and the quality of furnishing and lighting. I wish I had booked a room at Emerald Hotel instead. I remember the quality of Standard room and it was really outstanding relative to what I had at the Grand. In addition, it seems patience and understanding are not necessarily primary qualities of all the staff as the female receptionist I had to deal with got very nervous and outspoken after some misunderstanding, which could have been credited to my having woken at 01:30am on that day. At 04:00pm I was not that fresh. Anyway, I don't think I will ever book at the Grand again. I will stick to budget Siam Beverly and high-quality Emerald for future reservation.

I didn't find anything good about this hotel except breakfast service which was just bearable. Hotel staff were not pleasant. The room was bad. the lamp in the bad room hanged out of the ceiling and the closet doors couldn't be closed properly, for instance. From outside, the building needs urgently repainted. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. It is way over-priced.

Check-in is a problem. The regular reception will not take care of you. You will be redirected to the group/bus reception at the lower floor. You could be waiting for a long time before it is your turn. Not something I look forward to after a long flight.

The room was very cheap so we didn't expect much, but it was extremely tatty and not particularly clean, the closet light also gave you an electric shock because the switch was broken, the staff were fine and the food was good. The location wasn't that great but it was just a short walk to the metro, which is cheap, clean and very efficiant and easy to use.

The Panorama Restaurant was changed to a very exclusive restaurant, was great quality, but not what I need during a leisure stay. Suggest to offer cheaper options at the menu....
