Staff at the front desk are generally alright, with the exception of the taxi service at the front of the hotel. My advise, do not use them! If you want a taxi, walk a bit out of the hotel and get one from there, it's cheaper as you don't have to pay commission. I was forced to pay commission (50 bahts) even though I myself hailed the taxi in front of the hotel. Even the taxi driver was a bit annoyed with this attitude.

Notice this hotel review hasn't been good but does this hotel take our reviews into consideration?The hotel room (especially the bathroom) seriously needs to renovate, the bathroom ceiling looks as if it's going to collapse, the carpet needs to be changed (looks so old)., the aircon too noisy, the top layer blanket too uncomfortable and rough. Except for the hotel location is good as it is near to the shopping areas and the price is very affordable, the condition of the hotel seriously needs a makeover.

Budgeted hotel with excellent location, real value for money. I stayed in this hotel 2 times during my trip to Bangkok. Best place if your main purpose is to shop in Bangkok ... 5 Minutes walking distance from Platinum Fashion Mall, Partunam Center, Phantum Plaza (IT Center) and the Wholesale Pratunam Market. Just 10 minutes walk from the BTS. I recommend this hotel for stay. If I will come back again to Bangkok then my first choice would be this hotel.

Location is excellent since it is in the heart of the Pratunam shopping areas. Found the front desk staff very unfriendly and not helpful at all. They should learn to smile more...room was small but clean. We requested for a room in the city wing (newer). Room was very spartan (what do you expect for the price anyway!) Breakfast fare was OK, though we had the quite the same food every day... but palatable, nevertheless. Don't think I will stay here again if ever I were to visit Bangkok.

This hotel is out of my expectation. The staff at the counter is rude and un-friendly. When she ask for the deposit, I asked why this has not been informed before hand as we do not prepare extra money for deposit.May be her English has problem, she said: This is my policy, you have to follow!!! She was so rude and unpollite. The room service always left out the laundry bag. And when we ask for it, the cleaner argued that has given to us. We've recently stayed in First House Hotel as the other hotels that I've chosen are all fully booked. I was really disappointed at first coz I'm travelling with my family and I didn't wanna be criticized by booking a bad hotel. However, I still want a hotel in the prime shopping district. If that's what you're looking for, shopping, and a hotel that's value for money. Then First House Hotel is an option. Just turn left into the alley from the lobby, you'll be amazed by the number of shops there are! It's a wholesale market of clothes! Just across the street at the main road, is the Platinium Mall. MBK is just a short journey via taxi. So if you're not so particular about staying in a 'good' hotel, you can probably consider this one. It is value for money since you can save on the accommodation and splurge in shopping instead. Be warned that the outlook of the hotel is pretty run down but the bed and bathroom is pretty clean and the room is spacious. Aircon is extremely cold even when I switched to 'low'. Lift is very small and there's only 2 of them. There's only one socket behind the TV but you can always get an international multi plug from the room service. Not much variety at the breakfast buffet but I'll usually give it a miss and eat street food instead. I noticed that they're doing some revamp to the facade so I hope there will be an upgrading or something. If you're looking for comfort, don't think about it. If you're looking at shopping, then this is for you.

Good location, near to shopping area. Staffs were friendly & helpful. Improvement can be done on air/cond (too noisy) & lift (too small, max 7 pax per lift for a 10 floors building). Overall it was a pleasant stay at First House Hotel & will come back again.

My mini-deluxe room was spacious and very nice but had no power point outlets other than the TV and fridge! You need to buy a power board at Panthip Plaza to charge your mobile and laptop. Great spot for shopping. Endless taxi touts outside the hotel doors, don't even acknowledge their existence as they will try to rip you off. Overall a very pleasant hotel.

It is very good to stay in this hotel, the staffs are very friendly and helpful and very good service. Just few minutes walk to Erawan Shrine and Central world. Many taxi drivers in Bangkok don't even know the hotel. Have to direct them as the hotel is located in a small filthy backlane off the main road. Not recommended for the first time visitors. Hotel rooms had a foul smell when the door opens. Toilet seats cracks on both rooms that I last stayed with my family. My rooms were located at a corner on the 7th floor and it became extremely noisy with doors opening and shutting as if from the next room although nobody stayed on my adjacent rooms. It only happened around midnight for an hour or so and during that time, the room became extremely chilly eventhough the aircons were at its lowest. My children were shivering. As I do not want to incite fear into them, I tried to dismiss the events that the hotel was old and everything functions not to our expections. This could also be contributed by the outside climate of between 19°C to 24°C in the night.
Apart from this, the hotel location was excellent for shoppers as there is nothing that we can't find within a walking distance. At the price that we pay for this hotel, thare isn't any that can match within the vicinity. The facade of the hotel is vastly different from what you see on the internet and this grossly tantamount to misrepresentation.

It is a very basic hotel with very basic ammenities. If you are going to Bangkok just to shop and nothing else, then this is a good place, not neccesarily ideal (if you are looking for a bit of comfort). The staff are pretty friendly. The view from your room is hopeless. You get to see people's backlane.
However, take 20 steps from the main entrace, you can already start spending those bahts away. Shoping, Shoping and Shoping.... they are just around the corner from this hotel. There are about 6 malls in that area and you can spend a good 2 days there without going elsewhere. There is a 7Eleven just down the road. Might only consider staying there again.

The hotel absolutely value for money. Friendly hotel staff, good environment, nice breakfast especially for a vegetarian like me, and good & cheap massage service, let us have a very wonderful trip. The location is perfect for shopping. I will choose this hotel again when I visit to Bangkok next time. There is a little bit thing need to improve, the lighting at the corridor is not bright enough, the bed got "squek squek" sound. Anyway, this is not a big problem. I have stayed at First House Hotel during my last 2 visits. This time round, I have found the hotel staff to be not as friendly as before. There is no feeling of warm hospitality from them anymore. The room I was staying in was very close to the housekeeping store. A lot of disturbance early in the morning when the housekeepers are doing thier rounds. Main wing not much better than rear wing. This hotel is located near to Pratunam area whereby it is very near to shopping mall and eating places. This is my first time staying in this hotel and I find it is worth the money paid for. Rooms are kept quite clean and the only disappointment is the hall leading to the rooms is quite dim. The air condition works very well which means it is very cold and one can have a good night's sleep without any disturbance. The place is quiet and there are many taxis just waiting outside the hotel to bring you wherever you might want to go. I would stay here again on my next visit which is quite soon.

Excellent room & service yet at an affordable price. The room is spacious enough for three persons. Room service is fast and efficient. All this at an affordable price together with an american breakfast thrown in. The staff are very friendly, always smiling and willing to offer assistance.
The hotel is ideally located in downtown Bangkok at the heart of the Pratunam area with the Pratunam market, Baiyoke Mall, Indra Square and Platinum Fashion Mall just steps away. The location of the hotel is also within walking distance from Central World (formerly World Trade Centre), Gaysorn Mall, Holiday Inn Complex, Central Department Store etc. It is also nearby to Mah Boon Krong (MBK) Mall, Siam Discovery Centre, Siam Square by taxi or tut-tut. There is also a BTS Skytrain about 100 metres away.

The hotel picture itself does not really give you a clear picture, at first we were shocked when the taxi arrived at the hotel. But I must say the value for money and the location overide many other things. Next shopping area, surrounded by lots of road side stalls selling clothing food and many other useful stuff and also near main whole sale centres. Just slightly off the main road quite easy to get transport, hotel caters for taxi limo service. I would say I wouldn't mind stay here again during my next visit to Bangkok.

I did not like how the hotel staff treated me when i wanted to extend my stay. Initially they said they had vacancy but when i told them that the other manager told me they would give me the rate that i got here, they suddenly said they did not have vacancy and even recommended me to a hotel nearby.
The breakfast is not really something that would give you a taste of Thai food much but I believe the hotel is one of the cheapest if not the cheapest in this online booking system. Pratunam Palace which was right beside actually gave out a cheaper price but it was a lot worse from the size of the room. You get what you pay for. I won't stay in this hotel again.
