Found the Hotel excellent in every way. A very friendly greeting by the doorman, reception staff efficient and the fact the room was available at 7.30am, after a long flight, was a wonderful. The room was excellent - roomy, clean, beds comfortable, great facilities and a very good bathroom. We were on the 12th floor and very close to the roof-top pool. We did not use this pool, but made use of the pool on the 5th floor as it had shaded areas. The location of the Hotel could not have been better - just walking out on the 2nd floor onto the "Skyrail" was a plus. We became quite expert at u...

The location was very good for shopping. The hotel is actually connected to the sky train from which it is easy to get to a number of shopping centers. To get to the temples you need a taxi, but there are plenty available outside the hotel. It is a little old, but clean with a friendly staff and good restaurants inside the hotel or nearby.

Staying at Asia Hotel made our trips very convenient, because it is just "two steps" away from Ratchatewi Station. Some more, after watching Calypso, the best whow in Bangkok, which is almost midnight, we just took a lift to go back to our room, instead taking a taxi. Frontdesk ladies are also very nice and friendly. Too bad we haven't tried the swimming pool. Next time we are going to swim, hopefully the renovation has been finished. Thank you Asia Bangkok Hotel.

Showing it's age the Asia Hotel is typical of the "over the hill" Bangkok hotel....trying to remain upscale with a cabaret show and Elvis impersonators.....the hotel does have a central location close to MBK and Siam Paragon. The connection to the Skytrain is really a plus! Rooms are average....plumbing is poor. Overall the hotel is a little overpriced but adequate.

The location of this Hotel was great, however, the hotel itself was showing signs of ageing. Asia Hotel is linked to the sky train station, making it very convenient to travel from one location to another. The washbasin tap has a gentle leak in our room, so there was a small patch of water on the bathroom floor throughout our 7 nights there. I inspected 3 other rooms earlier before I settled for this room - the fourth room. The showers in the other 3 rooms were not functioning properly; they had tiny, weak water sprays that sprayed in all different directions, making it impossible to have a shower, let alone a good shower. That said, the water temperature on the shower in our room - the 4th room - fluctuated from very hot to extreme cold, and when we made or even attempted to make the slightest adjustment to the temperature, the temperature of the water was either very hot or very cold. No adjustment could be made to this tap. This was room number 1185. While I was on the floor inspecting the showers in the rooms, I asked a British couple, who happened to be in the passage, about the shower in their room. They told me that after having stayed in the room on the eighth floor for two days, they had had enough and requested to be moved to another room because of the shower in the previous room. Checking out was a bit of a hassle, as they sent housekeeping to check the minibar in the room although we did not consume the drinks in the fridge. This was the first time we stayed at the 3-star hotel. This definitely did not occur in a 5-star hotel, anywhere in the World. Also, I do not like the Hotel policy of swiping my credit card for 3000Baht and asking me to sign the slip for security reason. I requested back the credit card slip when they found that everything was in order in the fridge, and perhaps in the room, during check out.

It is always a pleasure staying at the Asia Hotel! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our kids LOVE the breakfast. Don't use the taxi service inside the hotel, if you step outside the door you can negotiate the fee with the taxi drivers yourselves. A meter taxi to the airport shouldn't cost more than 300B plus the tolls. There is a great little restaurant down the road where you can get both thai and western food - it is next to 7/11. Enjoy your stay at the Asia Hotel!

The only negative thing, and not really part of the hotel's service, was the attitude of the lady on the Travel Desk, she showed no interest at all when asked about information on Bangkok in general, showed a very negative attitude. The people at the information desk always came to the rescue and helped out with the information asked for. A very pleasant stay.

Location is great to do shopping and basicly transportation is easy by sky-train. It's good way to go if you don't afraid big crowds during busy times. Taking taxi is a headache(meter) evenif very good help from hotel personels, thank you for that. Hotel is a little bit old already and rooms avarage price compared to quality. Clean and big enough, so good place to stay even longer. Service friendly, but seem to be slow in lobby bar area(even no customers). Lobby itself very busy most of time, so not for people who would like to drink/eat in peacefull environment.

We've stayed several times at Asia, but unfortunately the standard is lower and lower each time. Even the bedcovers smell of smoke in the Non-smoking rooms. And the cleaning... The staff is great, but the management must upgrade the quality of the hotel or it ill loose all customers.

The Asia is a very below-average hotel. The only plus is the location, it is directly connected to the Bangkok Skytrain. However the location nearby Siam square causes that it is practicly impossible to reach it by taxi because of the traffic infarct in that area. We were charged for minibar items we did not use. The rooms are outdated en need innovation.

I rated Asia Hotel was above average, in terms of location and the hotel functionality, even though we have to bring our own boiler for the tea and coffee making. Another 'small' things were complimentary fruit on arrival, daily newspaper and Skytrain tickets were not provided to customers who do not book the room directly to the hotel website.

I'm very happy to see that the Asia Hotel has upgraded the room locks to a card system! No more carrying that heavy brass key tag around in your pocket! :-) Furnishings were beginning to look a little worn during a previous stay, but management seems to be renovating at a slow but steady pace with clear priorities. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Siam Center & MBK shopping, and even has its own skytrain entrance to the Rajthevee station. There are plenty of dining options in the neighborhood, and it is not as hectic as the Sukhumvit area. The hotel does have internet service available, but charges a rather high fee for access. It is easy to find a 'net cafe within a block or two with much more resaonable rates however. The Asia has a good variety of restaurants, and the breakfast buffet is very good. Security is good and mostly unobtrusive.

Skytrain entrance direct from 2nd floor or hotel therefore visiting main sites really easy with no need to brave the Bangkok traffic. Good choice of food although on this visit only used the coffee shop and buffet dinner. Staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean. The showers' thermostat did not maintain chosen temperature. Would fluctuate to cool then very hot as you adjusted it. Check out is a little protracted although check in is quick. Don't like their new procedure of swipping your credit card for 2000 Baht and asking you to sign the slip as security. They do rip it up on check out but I had to ask for it on both occassions I stayed.

I have not been back in this hotel for more than 20 years since my last stay in 1986. The hotel has changed alot, room is very clean and tidy, staff are frienly. lobby area is bigger, and is very convienient to go any part of Bangkok from here either by taxi or sky train. I check in the hotel around 8pm on 13 Feb 08 and actually plan to transit to Chiang Rai at 1.35pm the next day, thought I can enjoy the American breakfast that provided by the hotel the next morning before I set off to airport again. Unforturnately, the orignal flight schedule has cancelled and I have no choice but change to the early flight that I check out the hotel at 4.30am. I will back to stay in this hotel in March 08 occasion again.

The hotel was very nice and located at a walking distance from one of the many shopping centers. the only inconvenience was that we had especially asked for a non-smoking room a month ahead of time and when we arrived we found the air in the room was unbreathable and that there weren't any other rooms available.

Hotel location is quite convenient, perhaps that's the best part. Hotel staff is friendly as you can expect from Thai people. The really annoying thing is the hotel taxi/tour guides. If you try to take a regulat taxi outside the hotel, they will harass you first to take the hotel taxi. For instance, a trip to Grand Palace cost THB 100 by regular (toyota corolla taxi) but THB 600 by hotel old taxi. Then, they first insist to take a boat trip (terrible boat, no life jackets). One day they took us to a Safari Zoo in Bangkok (if you are in Bangkok, it is a must if you have children, quite nice). But in the way back, the driver stoped is an huge jewerrely store. We didn't ask for that, but a regular market. But guess what, they probably get comissions because after you buy something you indicate the name of hotel your are staying. I actually bought a beautifull ring to my wife, but I just don't like the tricks. The hotel taxi drivers are nice, but it seems that get a lot of pressure from their boss, that call them once in a while. The bottom line is: it's a good hotel, excellent location, but never use their taxi/tour services.

Near to BTS, very convenient and no problem getting around the area. Walking distance to Siam Discovery, MBK. Can easily catch a taxi to Pratunam area which takes about 10 minutes depending on traffic condition. Travelling from airport to hotel is quite smooth. It took about 30 mintues (Sunday) and cost 325Bahts(toll + service charge).

My wife and I were extremely irate with one of the hotel guards who forcibly directed us to the reception desk one night accusing my wife of being a 'working girl' because of her Asian appearance and wanting me to pay for an additional "guest". After finally convincing the person on the desk that we had indeed booked and paid for 2 people we were permitted to go to our room. Next morning I spoke with the hotel manager about the incident. He was very apologetic but insisted it was hotel policy to act in this manner. My wife and I will never stay in this hotel ever again due to this incident and the insulting manner towards my wife.

I have rated food good but would say that the meal I have in the Vietnamese restaruant was very poor. The room size was excellent as were the furnishing and there was very little noise problem but the radio and two of the room lights were not working. I received a better choice of TV channels in a little 2 star hotel in Vietnam. The bathroom was a little "tired". The shower head was just about OK for my height - 5foot 6 inches - but would have been awful for anyone taller. When Itried to regulate the water temperature, the water was either cool or very hot. I have to say I thought that the staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant.

The hotel has good location but is worn out. The room was old and everything from outside and next rooms was heard. The two swimmingpools were ok but jaquzzi was broken and really old. Sadly we did not make to breakfast. But compared to the hotels we stayed later it was ok.

We managed to get a room that was in a rather good condition as compared to my previous trips. The bathroom was clean with bare necessities. As this was a standard room, it doesn't come with water boiling facilities and no bottles of drinking water. There was a tap that dispenses drinking water for those who dare to drink from. Location is perfect only because of the BTS. This is great because even though there are taxis and tut tuts readily available, it is sometimes difficult to get them to go short distances without them trying to make a quick buck out of you. There are a few cheap foot/thai massage parlours located near the hotel entrance.

This hotel keeps on going downhill. It was alright when they used to charge less, but now they are increasing the rates without improving the quality. To start off, the lock on our door was broken. It looked like it had been kicked in at some point. The carpet looked like it had never been vacuumed. It was so bad that I didn't want to take off my shoes! The bathroom had very bad lighting and the shower didn't drain. The walls could stand to be painted because they look very dirty. The food is awful and the breakfast is not worth getting. I gave this hotel one last chance and have decided never to stay again.

The hotel provides BASIC accommodation. There is no kettle for boiling water, though there is a tap for drinking water. They provide day-curtain, so those who wish to sleep-in will not be able to do so. The shower unit is not working very well. It is difficult to adjust to the temperature you want. The TV reception is quite bad too. But if you have no time for that, it is ok. As it is not a very expensive hotel, those who is planning to stay there should be prepared for it. Overall, it is worth the price you have paid for.

This is the worst service I have ever received in a hotel anywhere - and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels all over the world. Rude, unhelpful. Also this hotel does not offer a business person anything at all. If looking for cheap bed for night then fine - but probably overpriced. Otherwise go somewhere else.

Hotel very conveniently situated on Skytrain station so very easy to get everywhere. Rooms were very nicely furnished and spacious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants to choose from inside the Hotel and nightly entertainment in the form of a singer. Very substantial and varied buffet style breakfast. Cabaret show nightly inside the Hotel not included in the price. Shops and a Bar inside Hotel. Would recommend to others and would use it again.

This is a perfect short stay hotel where you can walk straight from the hotel into the Skytrain. Inexpensive and good quality of service, close to shopping areas.

The breakfast was held at the coffee shop as stated in my package. But was directed to another conference hall converted dinning room during the next morning as the coffee shop was fully occupied as we were late (around 8am). The food was not as good as the coffee shop. we discovered the difference when we make it a point to have breakfast at 6am the following day at the coffee shop.

Avaliability of transport via the BTS or MRT to the local markets namely Chatuchak and Suan Lom together with the upmarket shopping malls namely Siam Centre/Discovery, Chitlom and MBK. A walking distance to Pratunam and World Trade Centre. A must stay hotel if you wish to shop and eat as most of the famous eateries are accessible via the BTS or MRT.
