Excellent tower wing room which was recently renovated. The room was upgraded for free from the main wing upon request and also understood that the main wing is currently under renovation. New carpet and bed/mattress as well as sofa. Very cosy and spacious indeed. It was also observed that the bathroom is very modern & 'posh' and noticed that it now has a water spray for those who need to wash after nature call. This caters for those prefer to wash than using toilet tissue. There is no more bath tub but the shower is constantly in good flow and heat.

It has a big concourse which gives you a sense of space and not a cramped environment. It is also located very close to BTS station which makes traveling very convenient. The metered taxi service is close to non-existence.

I thought the hotel was in a great central location, The staff where excelent and all spoke english which helped a lot, I will be booking this hotel for my next stay in Patong. Thanks for such a great stay Brett. One small problem I stayed in the tower room 602, It over looks a gay hotel and on some days they would sun bake nude, not the greatest thing to look at. But i got over it and enjoyed my stay with me 15year old daughter.....

The biggest problem was that I had to pay 1000 baht each time I took a guest to my room. I have stayed in much higher quality hotels and never been asked for this before. If it is the Hotel policy then customers should be informed before they book the room and not when taking a taking a guest back (the 1000 baht had to be paid in cash also to the security guard on duty). The noise was very bad during the day also due to renovation works ongoing in the Wing I was put in.

The supervisor in charged for the floor was very friendly and give personal attention to the needs of the hotelier. It is good to have someone who gave personal care of the guest. The buffet spread was excellent and seems that the spread are more to vegeterian and indian cuisine. The waitresses were very attentive and were there for the guest needs.Ambassador is always a good choice to me and have been staying here often due to the location to the nana skytrain and nearby to the nightlife entertainment, night markets and good eateries.Would recommend to all and will certainly come again and most welcome if free upgrade is again offered.. ;)

I have the upmost admiration for this hotel. Im not sure whether I got a special deal but for what I paid ($57US) I got much more than what i bargained for! The room was on level 19 and it was superb! Large white bathroom with large mirrors and ample room to move about. Although a single room the room was large enough to accommodate a family of 4. Equipped with a desk/lamp, suede couches, king size bed and a decent size TV. Breakfast and Gym were included. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety and the gym was decent for a temporary place to work out. Concierge staff weren’t as helpful as i had expected but nevertheless a great stay. If i manage to get a similar price I would stay here again!

Had to upgrade to Tower block as the Main Wing which we booked for 2 rooms was terrible, more off a run down lodge room. They gave us our keys for first room, when the room was not ready and the second room garbage bin not cleared from previous guest. New rooms in tower block was good and spacious for a standard room. Centrally located and great for shopping / dining around and the sky train. B'fast buffet was good. Will definetely stay over the next time.

Part of hotel under renovation, but Tower wing is perfect. swinningpool area is over the years becomming more and more "used" and not up to "normal" standard. Prices in restaurant and pool bar is way to high compared to hotel standard and street prices.

What I like most about the hotel is the staff friendliness, location and breakfast. However, the least one is there are very few TV programs which are not very clear and don't have good signal, even Thai TV programs and the bathroom is quite small.

i have stayed in better 800b hotels than this the room was simply awfull will never go back after an evening out for dinner with my wife ( thai ) on return to hotel we were given our key after being checked at reception but when we got to lift we were stopped by some scruffy security who demanded to know why my wife was in hotel with me this in front of other guests, totally embarrassing they did apologise but too late. they have shops on the walk from reception to lift and every day you will be stopped and asked if you want a suit. my advice is stay clear of this one it is over priced.

The location of the hotel was perfect. It was within walking distance of the skytrain station and much shopping. Although there was some construction going on as the hotel improved, the staff made every effort to keep this from being a distraction. My kids loved the pool and all of the exotic birds located near the pool deck. It was like having a zoo right inside the hotel. I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Bangkok.

The room was disgusting. No view, so very old and nothing worked. No TV connection, noisy, smelly...felt like I was in a prison cell. Called 7 times over two days to borrow a hair dryer. Perhaps the renovated section is better but I would never ever stay there again. At the pool side you can hear many many suffering exotic birds screaming from cramped cages. THEY SHOULD GIVE THEM TO A BIRD SANCTUARY AS I WOULD IMAGE THEY HAVE ALL GONE INSANE. DREADFUL to use those birds as a tourist attraction. Many people I spoke with were terribly upset to see those birds so cruelly caged in cramped and hot cages.
I recommend the Dream Resort around the corner...absolutely fantastic!!!!

Beware single male travellers! If you wish to take a female friend back to your room, the concierge police are waiting for you. They will pounce on you demanding that you pay 1000Baht in cash giving the excuse that you have only paid for a single room. This is just another scam for extra revenue for the hotel. These conditions are not advertised until they pounce on you.

When compared to my last stay 9 months ago, Ambassador Hotel has taken advantage of the refurbishment to increase its room rates by at least 40% but the quality of its amenities and services has deteriorated significantly. Greed seems to have set in. The hotel charges 150 bahts for a 10 baht pair of room slippers which is usually provided free in similar cost hotels. The breakfast rooms are over crowded every morning and there seems to be a mad rush for food as the empty platters are not readily replenished by the kitchen staff. The hotel tv has no Chinese language channels. Rather it now has Indian and Arab programs which indicate the preference of the management.

I like this hotel - it's cheap and centrally located. You do however, get what you pay for - the main wing rooms are old and small, so I would definitely recommend the tower wing rooms. The Main wing rooms are small and the fittings are old. The new wing rooms are better, but not by much. The hotel has no real facilities - a convention centre that is hardly used, a pool and gym that you must pay to use and an overpriced spa. So nothing fantastic. The food is nothing fantastic - aside from the breakfast, I have not really had a meal there, only coffee - the breakfast is ok and does the job. There is a tour operator in the lobby - I have only booked a cab to the airport once, so cannot comment. There are numerous tour companies directly outside the hotel that are cheaper, so I recommend them. The hotel is VERY close to the BTS and is excellently located, near BED Supperclub, some decent bars and the shopping area, You have cabs and tuk tuks outside the door and are very close to the BTS. Always take the BTS!
I come here time and again for the price and the location.

We've used HotelTravel.com on a number of occasions and the company has never let us down. However the Ambassador Hotel certainly did! On arrival the hotel did not have a room for us. When they did give us a room it was not made up and the bathroom was not clean. It was after midnight when our room was cleaned. Then we discovered that the toilet would not flush. The sent a plumber at about 1:30am when we were trying to sleep. The hotel has no idea how to take care of their guests. There was never any offer to compensate for our inconvenience and, with the exception of 2 particular front desk staff, nobody cares about the guests.

In this stay, the "superior" room allotted was not superior nor standard. They were no desk or chair, it was next to the laundry room, the temperature was always cold and the air-conditioning unit could not be adjusted, and there were mosquitoes.

Got a room with dirty worn-out carpet, small cheap looking bathroom with difficulties adjusting the hot water temperature. Worse is having problem closing and locking the sliding door to balcony. It can be open by simply lifting the whole panel. And without room safe, imagine how secure you feel day or night? Imagine I had to pay much more additional to get a triple room which look like this.
Waitresses at breadfast coffee house are awful. Never respond to repeated requests.Had to sit for 10 to 15 minutues staring at uncleared table while they float around you. Sadly, I always recall this experience after the trip.
Check-in reception is a curious experience. You wait to be served even there was no other customer around!

I stayed in this hotel during Chinese new year days, however, I had a unpleasant experience as listed below:
1. The breakfast: There were too many guests waiting for trays and food, and no table available to sit as well, when I finally got my meal ready on a available table, my meal was suddently being moved away, and the waiters were obviously under-supply, it seems that nothing they can do att the meantime.
2. The room facilities are too old and the light are dark enough in the evening, I ccouldn't charge my mobile phone due to the power socket was broken (either in room or bathroom)and the room smells terrible
3. I booked the room of Tower Wing during Sep, 2006, however, when I checked in, the counter staff gave me the room of Main Wing, It took 20 min. to switch the room
4. No taxi is available for guest to hire, unless you keep waiting there for next taxi with passengers arrived.
It is unworthy to pay such price to have such bad experience to destroy my holidays down there....

THe Ambassador makes a great first impression as the lobby, reception, front desk etc. are lovely but this only makes the rooms more disappointing. We booked a superior Tower wing room, I requested a double., we were shown to a large shabby room with twin beds. Went to reception and told them the room was unacceptable and after waiting over an hour were shown to an equally shabby room with a double bed. The bathroom was a disgrace, floor tiles chipped and banged, shower tile grout all black and mildewy and an area under the sink that looked like a dirty animal cage. Also spotted a cockroach at the breakfast buffet cereal table.

Everything in the hotel was good except that I had to wait for room for more than one hour after check-in though I arrived around 1-30pm. In the room the bathroom was not satisfactory as the water taps at the wash basins and the flush of the commode were not in proper order. In fact housekeeping service needs to be improved.

Situation is very good with BTS very close. Busy at breakfast times but you can always get a seat. The hotel is a bit jaded in appearence but all required facilities can be found at the hotel. Room was a bit dated with old bathroom style. TV pictures not good, bad reception

The hotel has a great location, in the centre of all the services in the area, and the sky train.
I spent four nights there, really enjoyed it, couldn't have been a better place to stay. I enjoyed the great selection of breakfast. In terms of cleanliness, the rooms were always cleaned by the friendly staffs.

A great location but the hotel is dated. The bathroom is especially dated. But I heard they are doing a renovation soon so hopefully in the next year or two it will be better.

I usually stay at this hotel because of it's convenient location. I stay in the tower rooms because they tend to be larger and in better shape than the ones in the main building. This last stay I was disappointed by all of the roaches in the room, first time I have seen them in this hotel. the bathrooms and rooms need an over haul, to justify paying the prices they are asking for the tower rooms.

Excellent location, very close to the skytrain, Meter Taxi baht 200 to Suvarnabhumi airport plus B65 for tollway takes about 30 minutes. Concierge / Bell boy staff excellent. Cashier always has change for taxi's etc. Refurbished rooms in the main wing are reasonable value for money. All in all not a bad hotel.

The Ambassador gets very mixed reviews, now I know why. The room we booked 3 months ago was not available when we checked in, a common occurance according to previous reviews. We were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost, not so common, but full marks to the hotel. The facilities, food and beverage, and service were all of an adequate level. Finally, a common complaint in previous reviews is the treatment of female Thai guests by the hotels stormtroopers located in the lift lobby. My wife is Thai, and was subjected to an embarrasing confrontation by these idiots every time she entered the hotel. I would advise any family who have Asian female members to steer well clear of this hotel.

Stayed on the 5th floor which has recently been refurbished but only to the extent of wallpaper and tiled floor, oops forgot new bed headrest. Same old crappy phone TV full of static and furniture that was very tired looking, probably would be more suited in an old peoples home. Staff as usual are very friendly and helpfull, the baggage desk is great and the Manager is excellent. Staff in dining room allways remember me each time I arrive and make it pleasant. Location is excellent with easy access to skytrain and underground. There is a lot of touts around that area but just remember if in doubt ask the staff downstairs and they will advise you of the best way to get to your destination and about how much you would be expected to pay for the trip.

We booked two rooms at the Tower Wing,Rm 885 & 887. Despite request for non-smoking rooms, we were put in a once-smoked room without being deodarized.Room 887 is smelly and its smell seemed to come from the aircond duct. The carpet is not shampooed and aircond/ventilation ducts not cleaned. The room furniture and bathrooms fittings were poorly maintained, fridge cabinet door broken and carpet dirty and smelly. Frequently, there was strong wisps of waste smell emitting from toilets and aircond ducts.
There were no cotton ear buds provided. However, the rooms were spacious and of average value for money with breakfasts included.Security was good and staffs friendly and efficient, from checking in till our departure day.
There was writing on the wall and chewing gum stuck on the wall in Room 887 probably by kids. However, the hotel housekeeping staff should conduct a detail check prior to checking in new guests.
Overall, we were happy although much happier if the rooms were better maintained.

The only upside with this hotel is the price and location. Everything else is down -- no internet in the room for all four days I was there despite having paid more for the tower which they advertised had internet access (biz centre blamed it on service provider), small cockroaches in room, no lifeguard or attendants in the pool area. Oh yes, bring your toothbrush -- they charge 60 baht if you call housekeeping for it. I've never paid for a toothbrish in any hotel in Asia!

Though Ambassador Hotel is relatively old in terms of it's furnishings, our room which was in the Tower wing 'superior' category, it was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well maintained. The American breakfast included in the price was absolutely amazing. Being centrally located and a couple of minutes walk from the Nana station it was ideal for shopping. It was definetely value for money and if we visited Bangkok again we would definitely pick Ambassador to stay at. Thank you Hotel Travel.com for a great deal.

My stay at this hotel was dreadful. I urge anyone thinking of staying here to think again. I had to change rooms because the plug socket was smoking and I was also flooded as the toilet overflowed. Whilst this was being fixed I was locked out of my room and had no where else to go until the early hours of the morning. The worst of all was that money was taken from my room by the maids. After filing a police report and explaining it to the manager, I was called a liar and ridiculed in the centrtal lobby. Considering all of the problems I had faced at this hotel, the manager refused to offer any assistance or even sympathy. I would never return to this godforsaken place.

The ambience of the hotel is very impressive but the same cannot be said about the rooms.Tthey are run down but CLEAN. The location is excellent, being near to the Nana Sky train station and shopping areas and also provide visitors a safe feeling to walk around. It is a value for money hotel. If only the hotel provides tea making facility and upgrade the fittings of the room, it would definitely attract more customers.

The assessibility of public transport is good, only 5 munites walk from the hotel. You can get a cab easily too. But the front desk people are not friendly and helpful enough. Everyone is showing thier long faces with no smile. Room is very spacious but they really need to refurbish. Carpet is very smelly and door lock is not secure at all. Can easily break in. Overall the hotel was good for what it was needed for in my case, a roof over my head, as i did not stay in the hotel much. The location is excellent and allows you easy access to the night life, shopping as well as commuting to must see areas. The rooms (stayed in 2 different superiors) are a bit older than expected and could maybe use a bit of work, more specifically the washrooms. But were clean and really can't expect much more for the amount of money spent.

Room size value for money. I was not caught in the traffic jam coming from the airport, as it's close to the highway. Easy to move around because of its close proximity to the sky train terminus. My experience of staying at the Superior room at Wing Tower of Ambassdor hotel from Jun 24 to Jul 1, 2006 was not that good. The good part is at the hardware part which means the facility within the room are fine with me for the price I paid. But the cleanness of the toilet is not that professiona. I couldn't accept there were cockcoach there no matter for whatever reasons.
The main issue, the worse part, came from the unprofessionalism of the concierge service. On the date of arrival on Jun 24, I waited for over one hour to get my luggage to my room after check-in. I called to complain with Concierge 3 times and then I finally got my luggage after check-in. The bell boy's explanation was that he was terribly sorry because he totally forgot the existance of my luggage.
Due to this poor service at the beginning, I was very careful at the date of departure on Jul 1. Unfortunatedly the bell boy was sent by concierge and got the luggage from my room when I was checking-out in the morning. When I got my room number voucher to withdraw the luggage and go to the airport, the concierge told me that he couldn't find my luggages. He asked whether I put the luggage by my own in the morning, so there was no record, and then want me to find the luggage from all luggages there in the corner. After I found them and I asked him what's wrong about the number, he explained the room number was misrecorded, so he couldn't find for me. It's really a unprofessionalism.
Besides that, the toi
