Rated #38 for all Bangkok hotels
Extremely well located hotel for access to Bangkok sights and for travel to the airport. Excellent choice of restaurants within the hotel - we only tried the Thai restaurant which was very good if a little on the expensive side. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was excellent. Overall an extremely good hotel for either a long or short stay....

Beware the exchange rate! I booked with the hotel for a car to pick me up from the airport as I was arriving late at night. I was quoted $60 US. When it came to pay the bill which was in Thai Baht the equivalent was $68US. I was told this was because of the fluctuating rate. I pointed out that in future it would be helpful if they quoted prices in local money to avoid this. My room was booked by you for bed and breakfast. The first morning I went down had a good breakfast and then went shopping. On my return I found a note in my room stating I had failed to pay for my breakfast and would I please report to the front desk. It took a while to sort out....the lady who checked me in had failed to give me a chitty for this meal....overall I felt the situation was handled badly and no apology was given....the staff at this hotel are not exactly client friendly.

Nice rooms but nothing over the top. The bathroom was a bit mouldy. Great swimming pool, excellent gym and also loved the the spa. The staff in friendly and professional. It's amazing that the hotel was located in a very busy street yet I not hear the noise inside.

Great room, great location. Great for shopping. Promenade cafe had very large breakfast buffets. Dinner there one nite was poor...overpriced wine was equal to half a glass, forgot to submit one of the four meals ordered. Service was cordial but not pleasant. Would not eat dinner there again.

The best thing about the Amari is its proximity to shopping areas. If you are more interested in hotel quality than shopping then Conrad and Shangri-La hotels both offer better standards for a similar price. Having said that, I was not disappointed with my stay at Amari. It is right next door to Platinum Fashion Mall, where you can buy clothes at very affordable prices. Across the road is another fashion mall, prices here are cheaper. Service is excellent, right down to the girl who stands beside the Concierge desk and does nothing but nod and say hello .... all day long. However, Weekend check-in/out is hectic. Leave plenty of time for the bell boy to come for your luggage.

My family have stayed in this hotel twice and are very much satisfied. Location is perfect for us and all staff were very helpful, courteous, pleasing and kind. I will definitely stay in this hotel again on my next trip to Bangkok. I truly feel that Thai people are nice people. I haven't met anyone yet who is not nice. Thank you for making my stay at Amari Watergate Hotel a most enjoyable and unforgettable experience.

We have vacationed in Thailand for the past 5 years. Over the past 4 years we have stayed at this hotel while in Bangkok. It is centrally located in the city within walking distance to shoping centers, and good eating establishments. It's pool area, on the 8th. floor, is decorated as if in a lush tropical environment. The friendlyness of the staff cannot be beat.
