Rustic Hsinchu, Taiwan, “The Windy City”, boasts the Hsinchu Municipal Glass Art, splendid Eighteen Peaks Mountain Park, and the half-century-old Chenghuang Temple Night Market, which is known for its snacks like Hsin-chu meatballs, and spring rolls.

The topography consists of mountains and only little flat land thus it’s rapidly increasing in popularity on the eco-tourism front with some excellent mountain trails being marked out and other outdoor activities becoming more and more popular as the years go by.
There is a little bit of everything for children in Hsinchu county. Whether your children are nature lovers or thrill seekers, there's a niche here for them to enjoy. Several protected ecosystems support a variety of wildlife, some of which can be viewed at a miniature zoo downtown in Hsinchu Park. More mainstream entertainment is available at Leofoo Village, where a variety of themed rides and other attractions await families outside of Hsinchu city proper.

Chinese New Year: pinned to the first day of the year's first lunar month, this festive family occasion is the biggest event of the year. There is a great deal of commotion leading up to the New Year celebrations as families clean their homes and sweep away any traces of bad luck. The colour red plays a major role in the holiday, and little red packets containing sweets along with cash are given to children at family gatherings.
Hsinchu offers a variety of attractions for visitors to explore, a great number of which are centred on ancient temples, each with a unique history. Beyond historic architecture, the surrounding countryside is also rich in natural beauty, and there are a number of parks and potential daytrip destinations that keep guests here longer than they anticipated.

The closest international airport to Hsinchu is also the country's busiest gateway. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (formerly known as Chiang Kai-shek International Airport) is located in Taipei and can be reached via a 30-minute drive from Hsinchu. This is one of three international airports in Taiwan, along with Taichung and Kaosiung international airports.
