I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Cornavin Hotel. In fact deciding to stay at the Cornavin turned out to be one of my best decisions. The hotel far exceeded my expectations. What I found most satisfying were:
(a) checking-in (after a 12 hour flight into Zurich followed by a 3 hour train ride into Geneva - and you can imagine how tired my wife and I were) was quick and hassle-free which was made even more pleasant as we were greeted and attended to by a very friendly and warm check-in staff (can't remember the pretty young lady's name);
(b) the room was more spacious than we had expected wi...

Excellent Hotel Located in the heart of Geneva. The rooms are very clean, good size and the staff are very friendly. The Breakfast is good, from the dinning room you have a very nice view of the City. We have to encourage them to continue the good work that they are providing to their clients.

Liked most - location. Liked least - staff were not very friendly or helpful. The breakfast is very average. Have stayed at the hotel previously and had a lovely room. This time the room was very small.

(b) the room was more spacious than we had expected with a modern yet homely furnishing and fittings and for weary senior travellers like my wife and I this made a world of difference; the room itself was warm and comfortable and despite overlooking the busy street below, was quiet;
(c) travelling was extremely convenient as the main train station, city trams and buses and even taxis were just a few steps from the Hotel - we could not ask for more!
(d) breakfast on the 8th Floor was just about right in terms of the offerings; and the view of the city was marvelous - my idea of a casual, almost laid-back vacation breakfast;
(e) housekeeping was good - no complaints; the room was always clean and tidy when we returned from our daily outings;
(f) like checking-in, checking-out was equally fast and hassle-free and attended to by pleasant and courteous staff.

It was indicated that breakfast started at 6 in the morning. However, there was no staff at the restaurant at 6, the staff at the front desk could not do anything as he was alone and could not leave the desk. Breakfast staff arrived a 6.30 and I managed to get my first cup of coffee at 7.
