The Grand Hotel is a Hill Country landmark, dating back to 1828, located in the centre of Nuwara Eliya, at a height of 6,200 feet above sea level, on the outskirts of a lovely park and golf course. The building is an excellent example of colonial architecture and was originally constructed as a private residence for the British Governor, Sir Edward Barnes.

Its a famouse hotel,but the room is very old and dirty,There is TV set,but not work.and the bath room is also dirty.Bad smell is around the bed.Some staffs are cold,I Prefer to live in some guest houses.
