We stayed at The Beach Hotel for two nights in July 08. The room was excellent, but we were amused by the clear glass panels surrounding the bathroom. However well you share everything with your partner, having the loo on full display to the world and the many young men room attendants who call very frequently just to enquire if everything is OK, or to turn down the bed early evening (hoping for a tip) is a step too far.
Negombo itself has nothing to offer and you get perpetually harassed when walking along the street by locals touting for business. The hotel is very good, but as there is ...

We checked in at 1:00 PM and because our plane was rescheduled and we were leaving at midnight, we asked for the breakfast to be changed to dinner or lunch which they refused and offered a 15% discount. The style of the hotel was very nice but the pool bar is too far away. service was timely and attentive. We discover the cultural show by hearing the drums, there was nothing in the room or lobby to indicate it was happening.
