Top Things to See

If you have had enough of the beach, simply walking through Torremolinos’s town centre will provide you with plenty to keep you occupied. There are many leafy streets lined with bars and cafés as well as shopping opportunities and the chance to enjoy people watching. For a taste of what Torremolinos was like before tourists arrived here, visit the quaint fishing village of La Carihuela and enjoy the peacefulness of life here. If you want to see more historic sights, head to nearby Malaga.

Calle San Miguel
This pedestrian-only street is famous for its abundance of shops as well as being the home of an ancient market. It is a great place to stroll, stopping off at the cafés which line the street along the way. Perfect for people watching, the street attracts people who come to sit back and enjoy the Andalucian scenes. At night, the bars come to life and a mix of locals and tourists can be seen revelling in the lively atmosphere.

Camino de la Playa
This white marble footpath winds its way down from the town to the beach. There are impressive views along the way and plenty of opportunity to get some quality photographs. The staircase is made up of 131 stairs although there is also a lift available for people who want to enjoy the view without undergoing the climb.

La Carihuela
La Carihuela is an old fishing village located to the west of the city. It is a reminder of what Torremolinos was like in days gone by and offers a chance to experience the simplicity of a Spanish fishing village. There are no hotel chains or lively bars here; instead you will find quaint houses and picturesque vistas across the ocean.

Paseo Maritimo
This beautiful and scenic seaside promenade stretches all the way from Playa mar Beach area to the marina. Especially noted for the bars and cafés which line it, the promenade is always bustling with people, making it a great place to people watch. Seafood can be found in abundance, as can tapas and other local delights. There are street entertainers on every corner and plenty of opportunity to enjoy souvenir shopping.
