Pamplona is a city in northern Spain and is the capital of the Navarre region. Famed for its “Running of the Bulls” festivities in early July, the city is a manufacturing town with many historic buildings and architecture. Pamplona is home to two universities and has a rich heritage from its days as a fortress city of military importance, in the Middle Ages. One can find many fine examples of the city’s past in cathedrals and historic areas, which are easily identifiable for visitors. The city is important to the Basque Nationalist followers, having been the Basque capital at one point in its existence.
