Ourense, Spain, is a town has three parts: the modern perimeter, the area of 19th-century expansion, and, prettiest of all, the medieval, with its wonderful narrow streets and small plaza. The oldest area of town is also its hippest, as it has undergone extensive renovation and is full of restaurants and bars popular with local university students of the town. The best architectural gem of them all in town is the 13th-century cathedral.
