This hotel is perfect for short stay tourism or business. Immaculately clean sheets / rooms etc. quiet and a good effiicient breakfast service. It's right in the centre of all the tourist attractions with everything just a few minutes walk , which also makes the hotel vicinity busy (and a bit seedy - but safe). Definitely recommend....

Very central, this hotel couldn't be in a better location for a short break. Right beside the Metro, 200 metres from Puerta Del Sol, Plaza Major, and El Rastro market, and just 500 metres from the Royal Palace! Better still the location of the Cortezo Hotel in a quiet one-way street meant that traffic and pedestrian noise was nil. Rooms were comfortable if slightly dark (we had a back room), but at the end of the day spent very little time in it! One small problem we found was that the hotel was very noisy in the mornings. All the rooms have big heavy doors and close automatically when you release them (for security I suppose) with a very loud BANG! Guests tend to leave them to swing closed behind them on leaving the rooms, so be prepared for a chorus of very loud BANGS early every morning as guests rise for breakfast! If you have been out enjoying a late night in the many Cervezerias of Madrid and want a lie-in in the morning I strongly suggest you take a good set of ear plugs!! Sleeping is imposible!! Otherwise as I say the hotel is ideal for a short trip and I will certainly be staying there again if I return to Madrid ... with ear plugs ;-)

Great location right in the heart of the city within walking distance of the museums, tapas, flamenco, city night life. Room was clean and most of the staff was very helpful , kind, and looked out for your concerns and well-being. Very handy to the metro which is 2 minutes away at the end of the block and from there, all of Madrid is yours.
