‘Cartagena, Port of Cultures’ is the slogan that the Spanish city is using to lure visitors to experience its fascinating mix of peoples and traditions over the centuries. The walled town and has a fine harbour defended (and frequently ill-defended) by forts. Carthaginians and Romans, modernists and classicalists have passed through town, leaving their marks. The city is blessed by a lot of Art Nouveau from the early1900s.
