The room was twin bedded and as we had booked a double we refused the first room. We were taken back to reception and were told it would be an hour before a room was ready (we were early for check in). Our luggage was stored for us and we took a stroll around the area for an hour. On our return we were shown a lovely room all ready for us. A very enjoyable stay with pleasant helpful staff. Would definitely go back....

Well located,older hotel with helpful front desk. Average breakfast with no fresh fruit. Very good housekeeping using high quality linens. No temp. controls in room, only fan speed. O verall, an acceptable tour group hotel.

The Avenida Palace is in a fine location, close to stores, restaurants and Las Ramblas. Unfortunately, the front desk staff is not particularly personable nor friendly and problems were encountered with our check out when we wanted to cover minor charges with a credit card. The room, although small, was most adequate and very quiet as it was on the back of the hotel away from the street. Breakfast was satisfactory with a moderately wide choice of items. Overall, this is a quality hotel but not really four star until the staff begins to recognize that clients are guests to be welcomed warmly and not merely tolerated.
