We arrived at 8:00 am and the room was ready. We were glad to get a little rest before exploring the city. The double room was large and seemed more like a studio apartment. It was contemporary, clean and comfortable (king bed). After 13 hours of touring the city, the room was wonderful to come back to. Air conditioned and quiet. Sorry we only had one night. The hotel is in a neighborhood within walking distance from las Rambla. Less than 10 blocks. Not a lot of pedestrian traffic - just locals making their way about and moderate automobile traffic. The hotel is in a neighborhood within walking distance from las Rambla. Less than 10 blocks. Not a lot of pedestrian traffic - just locals making their way about and moderate automobile traffic. Villaroel is not a pretty street, but the hotel itself is top notch. We would stay there again. The receptionist told me that Barcelona is a safe city; and that you only have to worry about pick pockets. The same goes in any big city.
