A nice place to stay for the traveler on a budget is the Yims House Hotel. A modest place that provides clean and comfortable accommodations, the Yims House is ideal for those who are always on the move and are not so fussy about things. It's a five minute walk from the subway station and has its own restaurant.

Rated #52 for all Seoul hotels
It's located very conveniently in a central area close to shops and sightseeing places, and public transport (including the airport limousine and Seoul City Tour Bus). The room is not big but has everything necessary in it, including free cable TV and a water tank. The bathroom was very clean, with shampoo, soap, toothpaste and clean towels....

An excellent place to stay for the price! Make sure to take the airport limousine bus to the Anguk station, walk towards the Changdeokgung palace, and turn right into the alley after the gas station/carwash. The hotel will be on your right. This is the best way to locate it, otherwise, you will get lost. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The staff are all very nice, and will clean your room once a day.The location is close to two subway stations (Jongo 3(sam)-ga and Anguk)so getting around Seoul is very easy.

The location was perfect, as it was within walking distance of various major tourist attractions, major subway stop, and post office. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the free wifi use was great. I would use this hotel again if I ever visited Seoul again.

This is the cheapest hotel in Seoul, and for the money, excellent value. Rooms are small, but ok for short term stay. Everything works fine, except for wifi, which was only usable in our case from hallway and not inside room. Overall very good value, and lots of tourist attractions nearby. Finding the hotel is not easy since most taxi drivers don't know this hotel. It's hidden in an alley way. Best way to get to this hotel is to get off Jongno 3ga station (line 5), exit 7, and then walk straight north for few minutes until a big building "korean traditional food cultural center". turn right into alleyway for 100 feet and then turn north again and walk about 100 meters and you should find this hotel

Yim's is a nice place to stay at, but it is a little difficult to find without a good map. It used to have a restaurant, but doesn't any more, but there a lots of good restaurants at the other end of the road--about a 5 minute walk. It offers easy access to Seoul Station and is fairly close to the commercial portion of downtown. I really liked that it is almost across the street from a famous palace, the name of which I cannot remember, and near two or three shrines. The room was quiet and comfortable. I would rate it about average in general, but excellent for the money.
