I stayed at Rainbow Hotel for 4 days and it was well worth the money. The day staff spoke and understood English very well and were so helpful in answering my questions about where things were and transportation options. The room wasn't very large, but then who goes to a foreign country to stay indoors anyway? Hotel's location was a minute away from Nameyeong train station, 15 min taxi ride from Itaewon, and minutes from all kind of restaurants and shops. I was on the streets well past midnight and never felt in any danger during my stay there. Some of the hotel neighbors were noisy, but it wa...

The room did not have a computer and internet connection. The hotel did not have an internet room / business services room either. I was referred, correctly to a PC Bong (internet room) down the street. Cheap and efficient. The phone in the room did not work except for morning calls which worked well. The woman on the front desk was helpful and spoke relatively good English. The restaurant did not open until 8 am so I couldn't use it.

The location here is excellent. Subway is 3 minutes away to give you ready access to all of Seoul. Many handy shops and restaurants, very close to hotel.Friendly and helpful reception staff. Excellent modern, clean room. Free internet in room and chilled and boiling water, very convenient. Great tariff. Would definitely stay here again.

I was on the streets well past midnight and never felt in any danger during my stay there. Some of the hotel neighbors were noisy, but it was hard to drown them out because the rooms weren't very large or sound proof. To get there, just take bus no. 6001 from Incheon Int'l for 8,000 won and get off at either Nameyeong station or Women's University stop. From Nameyeong station, the hotel is in an alley across the street from 7/11. From Women's University stop, you have to walk back towards major intersection, Crown Hotel will be up ahead on the left, and take a right. Rainbow is across the street from 7/11. When I was there, there was a barber shop and sunglasses store that led to the alley. I really enjoyed my time there and will definitely stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel before due to its affordability. However when it took them almost 2 weeks to fix a broken toilet, my opinion of them has dropped considerably.

The hotel was what I expected for the rate. It was clean and adequate, no frills. We were there in winter. The room was very hot and had to open the window as we couldn't turn the heated floors down. Opening the window made it noisy as the train passes close by. Good location.

I guess all the other reviews were true. This is a great hotel. Right beside major transportation (bus, subway, etc.). The airport bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the hotel (Namyeong Station it's called, just tell the driver when you get on the bus at the airport to drop you off there. It's 8,000won one-way (abt $6 USD for a ~1:30hr bus ride)). When you get off the bus you'll see a KFC. Walk along the sidewalk so that the KFC is on your right and turn right on the next major street you see. Then look up to the left and you'll see the hotel hidden in the middle of the block (you need to take a small alley to get to it). Free internet, 7-11, KFC, Pizza Hut and other Western-friendly restaurants within 5 minute walk. I was alone and not familiar with Korean food so didn't venture too much but there were plenty of little Korean restaurants too. I suppose if English was spoken a bit more I would have tried but not many Koreans speak English. Koreans are very friendly though. They will try to help you if they can. I read a comment somewhere from someone saying they didn't like foreigner but that wasn't my experience. Anyway, this has nothing to do with the hotel so I'll stop here. To finish I would stay at that hotel again no problem.

The hotel room and bathroom was clean. What I dislike most was that the water comes out on the side of the bath tub making the whole bathroom quite wet after a shower. But generally it was acceptable for the price we paid. It was conveniently located, but I also dislike the fact that you have to leave room key at the front desk whenever we go out.

Upon arrival, I was told that I did not have a reservation! The problem was that there was a one letter mistake for the second letter of my name! I even showed my identification documents. Unfortunately, I did not have the printed receipt, so I had to walk up three flights of stairs (luggage in tow) in a nearby building in order to use the Internet to look it up. There was no printer there, so I merely wrote down the reservation numbers and codes. That was not acceptable to the manager! Finally, I looked at their reservation list and found my name. Still, she made a phone call to confirm that it was really me! The manager said that the mistake was mine totally because I did not have the printed sheet! This is very rude and unacceptable treatment. On the positive side, the hotel was in a great location and reasonably clean and all. The other staff members were very nice and friendly. All spoke English well and were very helpful. Be sure you take your printed receipt and steer clear of the manager! I don't plan to stay there again.

Size: smaller room than expected. Noise: a bit bumpy, recommend you request a room at the back of the hotel, away from the street. Food: American breakfast good. Asked for 2 soups that were displayed in the elevator: neither available by 7pm the night I asked. The restaurant next door is very good: great bipimbob. SErvice staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall a good deal: not as expensive as the 4 star hotels but a step up from the love motels.

location was the main reason for staying there, the transport links were handy, including the 6001 bus back to the Incheon airport for 4000 won each, was excellent. staff were very pleasant and helpful, letting us stay in the room until 2pm on the day of departure which helped us very much.

This hotel is good value for the room rate. Room was adequate and clean. Close to subway station. Entrance on side street was a slight concern at night and only complaint was an odour at the hotel entrance (perhaps from the local restaurants nearby). Staff were friendly and accomodating. Room was adequate. Coffee & tea were provided, but no sugar or creamer. Having the air conditioning shut off when you leave the room made the room hot upon return. These facilities were not available and I had tofill in this field, so I rated poor. I could not select "did not use" as I would have used a pool if it were on the premises. Staff were friendly and accomodating and spoke fairly good English. Location is conveniently near a subway station, however the hotel entrance is on a side street that was poorly lit @ night and I would not have wanted to come in alone. Also, there was an awful odour by the front entrance - perhaps from local restaurants. Some noise in the early morning outside and we had to call front desk as the rooms were not very soundproof and the people in the room next to us were very loud (well after midnight) and they had a child who was squealing and carrying on.

The hospitality was excellemnt. The room size was much smaller than expected. No internet facility available and no English news channels on television . The airconditioner in the room needs urgent attention - it could hardly do the job of cooling the room! We had to sleep with open windows. Not all front desk personell could assist with basic directions to tourist attractions. The central location of the hotel made our stay worth the money.

Great room for two people even though there was a twin and standard bed in the room. Room and bathroom were very clean. Only stayed two nights. Facilities appeared to be good however. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to Metro, bus stops and airport bus service. Saved about 70 USD by using airport bus rather than taxie. (Ask front desk our USO personnel where to catch airport bus). Loby could use a bit more light. After spending several nights in a 5 star hotel in another city, it was a pleasure to receive value for the money.

The room had absolutely everything we needed.. the beds were comfortable and having a hot and cold water cooler was great. The bathroom was clean and big enough for our needs. We didn't really like the shower set up (a shower nozzle on a cord you need to put up and down for each shower, within the bath). Little things like a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, bathwash, toothpaste, mouth wash all being provided was nice (though we still used our own supplies and not the ones provided, the fact they were there was a nice touch). The location was great, so so convenient for bus transport and the city tour bus, lots of food/convenience stores. We had laundry done while there (almost a week of clothing for two adults, two babies and a 5 year old!), dropped off in the morning and ready in the evening and from memory it was only about $20 USD. We got there at about 9.30am and check in wasn't until noon, but the concierge were happy to look after our bags so we were able to leave our bags safely and go sight seeing. Our ONLY complaint is that we were told to come back at noon to do check in and our room would be ready.. we got back just after 3pm really looking forward to a shower and rest before more sight seeing and our room still wasn't ready but the most annoying part was that we were told the hold up was because they noticed we had a three children and wanted to give us a free upgrade to a bigger room and blamed the delay on wanting to provide us with a more spacious room - b

Brilliant for a short stay, Get the #601 bus from Incheon International to the Womens university stop. Walk back to the last major junction and it's there on the left. Free PC & internet access in the room, if only some so called 3 star & more hotels would provide such a service.

Its a love hotel! But dont let that deter you from staying there. Great location. The Nam Yeong subway station is less than 3 minutes walk away from the hotel. Getting a midnite snack is not a problem at all with a couple of restaurants open for 24 hours. You could even take an airport bus from a bus stop that is only 5 minutes away from the hotel. The bus will send you straight to Incheon Airport for a fraction of the price (7,500 won).

If you are knowledgable of Korea, the best description of the Rainbow is a "love hotel" look with English speaking staff and a professional hotel atmosphere. It is one block from Namyeong subway station or three blocks from Sookmyung station -- very convenient for this part of town. A good bargain for the price in Seoul, with comfortable, clean rooms and a helpful staff.
