Compared to Hamilton Hotel which was quite near to this, everything except the building, was below average and expectations.

This was a strange hotel. The whole building is aged and worn. The rooms were tiny and cramped with ugly furnishings. The sheets were uncomfortable and the beds hard. There was a bug spray can sitting on the dresser. Hotel information papers were tattered and old, who knows how long they'd been there. I would not recommend it to anyone.

The location was fantastic for a short stay in Seoul which has a marked shortage of midrange hotels in good locations near sights and public transport. Itaewon wakes up late and looks hungover until noon, but there is a Starbucks as well as a few other coffee shops in the am, and it has fun if slightly seedy nightlife. As for the Crown, the triple-paneled windows kept the room very quiet. The beds were okay. The water pressure decent. Nonsmoking rooms were available, but I didn't get one even though specifically requested. The staff became more friendly as we stayed longer. Large tour groups booked out the place on Saturday night, but did not cause much disturbance. If you want a nice brunch, Suji's is just a short distance up the hill on the way to Itaewon-no. It has a lovely rooftop garden (doesn't open until 11 on weekdays, however).

When we got to the room it was not fully cleaned; it had open used razors in the sink, change on the dresser and they gave me 2 twin beds when I was with my wife and wanted 1 queen. Terrible experience.
