Pretoria shares the OR Tambo International Airport with Johannesburg, as it is almost about the same distance from either city. This busy international airport has flights from a large number of international destinations and is also the hub airport for southern Africa. The airport is connected to all the major South African cities with regular flights.

Bus
There are a number of companies offering long-haul trips to cities in South Africa as well as Southern Afrian destinations. These are particularly popular with travelers from other African countries, but would not generally be used by Western tourists. The city of Pretoria has a reasonably good bus service, but most visitors rent a vehicle, with or without a driver, or use taxis for shorter trips.

Train
There is a very regular train service between Johannesburg and Pretoria, which is very popular among commuters. There are also train services to other destinations in South Africa, but tourists do not usually make use of these very busy trains. One exception are the two very luxurious train services, the Blue Train and Rovos Rail. Based in Pretoria, they offer regular trips between Pretoria and Cape Town, with special journeys to destinations like the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
