There’s a wide range of accommodation to choose from in Cape Town. Luxury hotels can be found in the same streets as backpacker hostels and guesthouses. Accommodation can be found right across the city, although most of the top hotels and hotels chains can be found in the downtown area. Most hotels cater for families, single people and couples, and booking in advance is advised, especially in the peak summer season.

Cape Town is regularly chosen as the world’s most beautiful city in opinion polls. Located on the tip of the African continent, the city has been blessed with the most extraordinary landscape and scenic attractions. From magnificent Table Mountain to spectacular white sand beaches; from the winelands to the rolling fields of indigenous flowers, Cape Town is a dream tourist destination. It also has a fascinating history and has developed a superb infrastructure for the millions of tourists who descend on the city.
As South Africans have strong family units, most places you visit will have facilities for children. In most cases, don’t worry about taking the young ones along with you; very few places do not admit youngsters. Here are some of the special attractions in the city:

Heineken Cape to Bahia: Cape Town's Royal Cape Yacht Club hosts the Cape to Bahia regatta every year. Around 40 yachts take part in the event, which is followed by prize-giving and a party.

Diversity is the key to Cape Town’s attractions, with Table Mountain the main sight. Visitors can either take the cable car to the summit or opt to trudge here to discern the marvelous coastal views. Bustling shopping areas, beautiful gardens and old-world architecture are other Cape Town highlights and the Cape Town Pass offers great savings.

Cape Town International Airport receives direct flights from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US with major carriers, although many people still enter the country through the larger Johannesburg International Airport. The airport is about 15 miles (23km) east of Cape Town city centre and is well equipped with banks, ATMs, currency exchange, duty-free shops, restaurants and bars.

This day is taken seriously by the majority of citizens, so expect red roses to sell out, restaurants to be fully booked and romantic spots to be crowded out on February 14. Join in the fun, it's all celebrated in good spirit. This is a festival of contemporary choreography and dance. Every year, the FNB festival selects a number of choreographers who produce work to show the public. The festival was originally designed to introduce South African chorographers into international dance. It has been incredibly successful. The Cape Argus Pick 'n' Pay Cycle Tour is the biggest timed cycle tour in the world, attracting 35,000 international entrants. The 109km challenge around the beautiful Cape Peninsula is great for spectators as well. |
