The room was good unfortunately the bathroom was awful, the groutings on the tiles and also at the bottom of the door around the hinges were mouldy. It was in an awful state that we almost bought a bottle of clorox to clean it ourselves. the state of the bathroom in our son's room though not as awful as ours, but still mouldy. I noticed when the cleaner came to out room to clean she did not scrub the shower recess.

The breakfast was way below standard - in terms of range and quality. The service staff was not freindly and customer freindly. I stayed at the YMCA on the same trio and found it much better....on both the above counts.

I Love this lovely trip because this time i stay at YWCA Fort Canning Lodge, which is located at Orchard Road (East). The location is very convenient, which is near to the transportation station & also near to the shopping centre. I walk from the hotel to Orchard Road Shopping Centre, & Bugis. The location of the hotel is perfect, which is the centre of the place. Also, i really appreciate for the room at YWCA Fort Canning Lodge, which that the room is very big & clean, which i really appreciated it a lot. Thr staff is very friendly & even the people that stay at the hotel is very friendly too! Thanks for everything for my lovely trip & i really appreciated it a lot! In my next trip to Singapore, i may continue to stay at this hotel again to continue for my lovely trip again at Singapore.

For the money and because it was a YWCA I wasn't sure what to expect, But I was very impressed with this hotel. The rooms were basic but clean, the aircon. was a bit loud in the standered room but on our return journey we booked a deluxe room, just the same decor but with a bigger room/shower and quieter aircon.
The location was perfect far enough away from the main drag, so it is quieter and close to get to Orchard Rd and the Metro, which are only a few minutes walk through the Mall.
Would certainly recomend it.

Staff were very helpful in every way, even the cleaning staff. Clean environment. Only complaint is that menu did not cater for diabetics well (eg no sugar substitute on tables and also no brown/wholemeal bread.) Otherwise a wonderful place I will safely recomment to anyone.

Room O.K., but did not include a radio. Tea/coffee satchets provided, but tasted awful; had to ask each day for them to be replaced. Would have liked a thermos or jug to put some cold water in the 'fridge. Pillows lumpy; beds were comfortable enough and linen was clean. Quilts could do with a dryclean; they had not been cleaned regularly.
The accommodation was adequate, but overpriced.

We have been the second time in this nice and central hotel. Unfortunately our room 13-06 was located at the upper flore and next to the watertank. Every 45 min. the dreadful nois from the waterpump did not let us sleep the whole night. Next day they changed our room to 12-07 which was exactly the same torture.
My recommendation: never again !!!

Considering staying at 3 stars hotel in Singapore, YWCA has good value for money, very easy to reach famous orchard road, close to MRT, just in front of Ford Canning Park - nice place to spend your morning or afternoon time. But nothing that you can expect from hotel facilities, they also serve poor breakfast. Anyway, I like this hotel - and I recommend you to stay there. Thanks to hoteltravel has made our holiday much easier. And also thanks to others traveler’s reviews at least from them I can get references

Swimming Pool was out of order and had already been so for one month prior to my arriviing - clients should have been informed of this as I specifically wanted a hotel with a pool.
Staff were extremely unhelful and unfriendly.
Tableclothes in the restuarant for breakfast were akways dirty and the large circular tables were totally inappariate for a hotel - this was more like a canteen.

Overall good location, near to most shopping region and MRT station.
It has a peaceful surrounding, just average vehicle traffic but cabs are easily available. However, the attach bathroom need a hand-held mini-shower for hygiene. Other than this bathroom facilities, I would recommend a stay with YWCA Fort Canning.

Very worth the money you spent...a little draw back is the breakfast and sometimes the lack of taxi cabs dropping by...otherwise, the hotel is above average. I would definitely be going back there the next time I go to Singapore.

Near to Dhobi Gaut MRT which really helpfull for us for getting around. For hotel located in the centre, its quite cheap with good service. The YWCA Fort Canning Lodge is a good position for going every where. Beacuse, it's shortly from MRT station, shopping center (orchard road) and near bus station, so the traveller will be comfortable when you stay at YWCA. YWCA made us happy and we have a good memory when we leaved there.

The hotel is described as a 'hostel' so I was not expecting too much. The responses above are based on what one might expect in a more expensive hotel. There is no bar also smoking and alcohol are not permitted in the building. This is no real hardship, I found, even for someone who enjoys a regular drink at the nearest bar; there are plenty of other places to go to. The restaurant was clean and the service excellent. We had two meals there (other than breakfast) and they were good value for money. Breakfast is another matter. the range of dishes on offer appears to be extensive but for a European, very limited. Neither was the food warm enough and the toaster took ages toasting only one side at a time! We had booked — and occupied — a superior room. This was spacious with a comfortable double bed and entirely satisfactory for our purposes. The general atomosphere was quiet and peaceful with no intrusive music anywhere.

For cost of room, location was excellent, close to train station (Dhoby Ghaut) and shops. Room was large with sofa, small table and chair, refrigerator and tea & coffee making available. What I liked most on staying at this hotel was the nice'n quiet surrounding enviroment and the breakfast buffet which is no gorgeous one you may take at the five-star hotel but the taste is quite good. What I liked least was the the location,although that sounds controvercial to the affirmative comment about the surrounding area.The access to the town center was not as easy as I had expected, you have to walk about 7-10 min to the nearest subway station and it's not that easy to take a taxi in front of the hotel.

I showed up early and the staff made every effort to get me into the room so I could crash after the long flight from India. After a month in India, sitting by the pool at the "Y" was just the decompression I needed, then I hit the streets and had a great time in Singapore.

Good value for money. Breakfasts were good and varied, with plenty of food catering for all tastes. Could do with better signage from Orchard Road as its a bit tucked away. Should have earlier check-in - I arrived at 10am and had to wait till 2pm - a long wait after a 13 hour flight!

The rate I payed for this hotel was exactly what I wanted to spend. It was in a nice location; close to the subway and the main street in town. The service was good. I was also very happy it had a laundry facility. It's perfect for a person travelling on a budget.
