I just wonder why, when cheking in on April 30th, the reservation was not at all in the hotel computer!!! I was given a room according to the voucher at chekin and was told that the hotel is investigating the case. Stayed at this hotel with my family for 5 nights. Hotel is very convienently situated above a MRT station and large shopping mall. Excellent views of the river and surrounds. Breakfasts are good with a large variety of dishes. Hotel room is a good size and not cramped.

We loved the idea of a Shopping Plaza in hotel and access to public transport. Also the late breakfast also was welcomed and check out time of 1-00pm. After paying for the lovely hotel, we would have expected to play tennis would have included in charge. Would recommend it to friends and would definately stay at the Swissotel The Stamford again - one day when we can afford it all over again.

The room given to us initially was smelling foul. the moment we entered the room there was the strong smell of urine masked with the air freshner. I started smelling the bed, the sheets, the chairs - trying to trace where the smell was coming from. When I found out that the culprit was in the carpet, I rang up Reception and told them that we cannot stay in that room. They were very accommodating and understanding and quickly gave us another room. The new room given us was very nice, very clean and yes no smell whatsoever. I enjoyed my quick stay here as the location was close to the places I wanted to go. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to my friends. the 2nd room given us had very clean toilets, carpets, etc. the room size was big and we were comfortable. had all what I needed - coffee, tea, television, fridge, hair dryer - all in working condition. couldn't ask for more. It took us a long time to check in. the wait was too long as there were lots of people checking in. otherwise, service was good. I only had one breakfast as I did not avail of the other free breakfast. Food was just okey - I've been to other hotels with better food. this is just my opinion (as to the choice of food I a used to). we had internet connected and it was okey although slow at times. it was close to where I wanted to go - but not in Orchard Road where "the Singapore is". there was always a taxi available when we needed one.

When I took a short vacation from Japan, I stayed a harbor view room for my 3 nights stay in Singapore.
As always, hotel staffs were truly professional and very kind. Especially their concierges' effort was excellent.
I enjoyed fine restaurants they booked during my stay.
Hotel's bar (City Space) gave me truly relaxing atmosphere with remarkable night view of Singapore.
I think the bar is one of the best place to take daytime activity load off.
I will use Swissotel The Stamford next visit for Singapore "As always".

The location was just fantastic and this in itself makes it worth another visit. Raffles City right beside the hotel and Orchard Road a lovely walk away. Our room was comfortable and clean as was the bathroom. I found the staff to be very efficient and very helpful. Breakfast was ok. There were a variety of choices so most guests would find something to suit. All in all a really lovely experience and would 100% stay in this hotel again.

We arrived late at night with 2 small children- our check in was smooth and efficient. The staff member (whose name I cannot remember) had just been dealing with a large group check in of non- english speaking tourists. They were difficult customers, however, she remained polite and professional at all times. When we checked out it was the same. The young man on the desk was so friendly and efficient... I wish I had remembered their names, because they should be commended. We will definitely return to the Swissotel when we are in Singapore agia.

loved the location, accessible to places of interest as well as shopping areas. was able to check in immediately after I arrived. buffet breakfast was yummy. room had a great view of the CBD, esplanada, and singapore flyer. staff was very accomodating; my dad mistakenly ordered breakfast in the room when he had complimentary buffet breakfast and was charged for it, but they reversed the charge after he informed them of his mistake. You shouldn't change your currency here though; it was very low (which i suspect is true for most hotels)

This was a family trip with my 2 kids and we wanted a hotel near everything and this one has everything in a walking distance. There's a shopping mall with lots of shops, from there you can go to the MTR station without getting out. Or can walk to the Esplanade or the Suntec City, walk to the Merlion statue and other monuments. Raffles hotel is around the corner, Chijmes (a food centre) in the back. For us the location was perfect.
It was a bit expensive but woth it due to the location.
We didn't understand why on the first day at 9:00 we got a paper under the door to call to make up the room when we needed it and in the next day we left the hotel early and back after 14h and it was not clean yet and at 16h they ask if needed to make it. Except for that all went well. Staff is nice and friendly.
Breakfast has 2 restaurants, food is good and pretty the same but one is more nice than the other, with more light. We never managed to the nice one, have no idea how they choose who's going where.
Room is big and nice. We request two beds and the be is big. Baby cot is also big.
We loved our stay and our holidays.

We booked a deluxe room only to find ourselves from the 53rd floor facing two floors of nothing but concrete of the building across the street. We asked if another deluxe room was available. We were shown one 50% bigger in size and with expansive city views. We happily took it. The receptionist scowled at us as if she had lost face. It was a pity that such an unfortunate welcome tainted what otherwise was an enjoyable stay.

We stayed here for 5 days, good location, nice view if you have harbour view room.Staff are nice except one or two who are too much rigid and tight about various items.I had taken the package of room and breakfast but since i was not feeling well I had breakfast in room which was charged sepretely(if you go down in one of the resturant for breakfast then only its free as part of the package otherwise they will charge you a nice hety amount).I tried to tell them about me not feeling well but no good response from the reception so i had to pay extra money for breakfast for myself and my wife even though i had paid already.
Getting a Taxi is a pain in this hotel.On Friday evening forget getting a cab and even you try to pay extra and get reserved cab then also you wont find any taxi .Even normal days be prepared to wait for some time(10-30 minutes) to get taxi in the evening.

Almost everything you expect from a 5 star city hotel, I say almost because the use of the fitness centre is not inclusive. Keeping fit is pricey, 25 dollars per day. Other facilities, well you have fast access to the hotel bars but be prepared to be scrutinized by security which as a guest feels very very arkward. As a hotel guest you expect to be looked after not frisked.
May be they should have some sort of badge system so staff can immediately see you are a guest and are welcome.

First room assigned was on a lower floor and seemed like the older rooms unlike in the higher floors which seemed to have been refurbished. In any case, since the airconditioning in the first room assigned wasn't functioning well, we called housekeeping to report it and they repsonded with someone to check it out even at 1230 am! Having confirmed it was broken, mgt. quickly upgraded us to a Club Room which was probably the only one available at that time. They quickly sent someone to help us move our things. Very helpful and efficient!

The location is great with Raffles City Shopping Mall off the lobby and in close proximity to the MRT which is a safe, cheap and excellent way to get around Singapore. We would recommend the hotel for location but be aware if you are a non smoker to ask for a room on the non-smoking floors only. The first room we were given was a smokers room, the smell of cigarette smoke was over powering and we requested a non smoking room. They did not have a non smoking room available and the room we were given did not have as strong cigarette smell but we had to request the room be sprayed. The rooms that have not been refurbished are not of a very high standard. We felt the cost was reasonable and the room cost included an American breakfast. We would recommend this hotel to others because of the location. The Equinox bar on the 70th floor is a must. Great view, drinks and snack like meals.
