Room had a musty smell at first, but not noticeable after first night. Bed was nice and firm, but the velcro holding the sheets to the bedcover was quite annoying. Breakfast had a great variety of foods and juices, nice location. Staff quick to respond to calls. Taxis always ready and waiting. It's a three star hotel as far as room quality, but staff does a nice job of making it feel a bit higher than that.

The most likeable aspect was the quality of the mattresses and the good rest I could have. The food was also of a good standard and the personnel were helpful and friendly. The gym was the only disappointing part where the heart monitors did not work and not technically 100% sound. The rest good.
Close to public transport. Excellent bus system. Taxi's available, but more important the bus stop just accros the raod from the hotel.

TV channels drastically need improvement. Limited english choice, mostly chinese.
Very good restaurants but choice of western food somewhat limited if you want to break the routine of asian food!

It seemed that a lot of the staff were trainees as stated on their badges and were without proper guidance. They were not overly helpful when we asked questions. The hotel advertised that they offered shuttle service to the airport, but they do not. The restaurant staff were slow and you had to flag someone down for service whenever you needed something. The served bland food and the food and drinks were quite expensive. Excellent room cleaning service though!

The standard of the room was reasonable for the price. Granted, I arrived late and the night staff are reasonably busy, but my check in experience was average. My booking agents payed for the room in advance, I had a request for a quit room away from elevators and stairs with a double bed, all written on the forms.
I was given a room behind the elevator which I refused. Then they give me a smoking room on the low floor with two beds. At that stage I had to go down to the lobby and plead my own case as the bellboy drew a blank.
The booking was made weeks in advance, my requests were clearly written down, all ignored. After a few calls and my being firm I was given a good room on the 19 floor.
My next problem started after I tried to fire up my computer. Wireless was useless so I used the cable (not all rooms have the cable). My next problem was that I couldn’t just log in. The procedure is to get a plastic card (24 hrs maximum) from the lobby. It contains a scratch area, like lotto cards which contain a password. Don’t loos it because they can’t do anything without it. They will send room service up to you if you don’t want to go down your self because they need a signature. Oh yes, the clock starts the moment you log in and it just runs out 24 hours later! So, you are up for $24 or so each day, so don’t bother with a 6 hr option.
So, at the end of this, 2 hrs later, I got to bed at around 2 am. There are few other hotels within 100m walk so you may want

This was a delight to stay at. After the reviews I was a bit apprehensive but I stayed in a room which had clearly been upgraded to flat screen tv and internet features and excellent decor. After somer terrible experiences in purported 3 stars it was a pleasure to stay here in what was a three star worthy of the rating.

Smart, modern hotel in a scenic location right beside the river about 5 minutes walk from the bars and restaurants of the Quays. Very welcoming staff. Breakfast outside and beside the river was wonderful. Not close to the mrt but taxis worked well for me. No international buffet in the evening

For a hotel in Singapore at the lower end of the price range, not a great deal can be expected. The rooms are of average quality and are in desperate need of a renovation. Although i understand that some of the rooms have been renovated I didn't get to see them (The photo they showed did show some promise). I had the impression that this hotel mainly catered for the Chinese and Japanese customers, as most of the TV channels were of those languages and the buffet breakfast certainly geared itself towards Asian breakfasts. That said, the breakfast was above par, and sitting outside on the river front in the morning sun is a treat. Although slightly out of town, a casual 10 minute walk will get you to clark quay along the river which is a pleasent experience, from there you can get the MRT to anywhere. Taxis were always outside if you needed them. For the budget traveller, this hotel is fine, just dont expect a palace for a room.

This is one of best hotels in Singapore at reasonable price. The hotel provides hourly shuttle bus to china town, orchard road, two most strategic shopping areas in Singapore. So you don't have to spend extra money for taxi to go shopping. It is located behind a very clean and beautiful river. The coffee shop is at the bank of the river, so you can eat breakfast while enjoying a good tranquil scenary.

Did not have any problem checking in or out. I was checked in in less than 10 minutes up to my room for rest. On check out, I have to leave at 5 am as my flight was quite early back. Did not encounter any problems - I was out in less than 10 minutes as well. Good service. Hotel travel is the way to go to book hotels anywhere in Asia. I'll try them on other destinations in the near future.
