We were quite surprised at the high level of quality this hotel was for a 4 star, by Australian standards it was certainly a 5 star, as was the service. Our room was tastefully decorated, including a large LCD tv and nice linen. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a good variety of asian & western food, fresh fruits, pastries & made to order eggs, pancakes & waffles - out of the 3 hotels we stayed at during our trip, it was certainly the best breakfast on offer. Although the Park Royal has become somewhat dated it remains a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. My biggest criticism is the stone step into the bathroom. It is dangerous and should be removed.

The main restaurant was good for breakfast, although there was only one syrup bottle for the entire restaurant, which we found a bit weird. For dinner, my parents enjoyed their meals, but my husband and I did not... the food was lukewarm or overcooked. The "public" areas were spotless, but the bedroom and bathroom were found wanting. In the bathroom , there were black streaks all over the ceiling (previous fire?), there were spots on the floor that indicated the floor had been vacuumed, but not washed. The shower was great, but it turned out it leaked down the length of the bathroom. for a few extra dollars, I would look for somewhere a bit closer to the shopping districts and perhaps a newer hotel that didn't have the same asethetic/cleanliness issues.

We stood in the Parkroyal hotel for 3 nights during our stop over in Singapore and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is newly renovated and therefore in a great condition all over! We had booked a delux room for 2 adults with our little son sharing the bed. At check in we were asked if we'd like a room with 3 beds instead. It sounded good to us but we were extremely disappointed when we found the dark room with the window facing the opposite building wall. Also the 3 single beds were extremely small. We asked to change the room to a double with a better view. After that we received a superior room on the 5th floor which was obviousely a nice upgrade with a much better design, amenities ect. If we go back we will probably book that category from the beginning since it is worth the extra money. Also the superior rooms contain bed duvet covers and not the blanket and sheet which is provided in the delux rooms.
The breakfast buffet has a good variety, service is very friendly, the restaurant is newly renovated - it just gets too crowded on Sunday mornings during rush hour. The kitchen staff wasn't able to keep the food on the buffet probably replanished - but after 15minutes of "total emptyness" the standard was back to normal.
The health club facilities and especially the pool is excellent. The pool is hugh, nicely designed and also contains a big kids' pool. There are convenient lounge chairs and the surrounding are nicely kept with flowers and trees and little patios all over. The pool bar has good coffee, cakes, drinks and a small food menue. We found the prices moderate concidering that it is a 4 star hotel and the quality was excellent! Also the stuff was very friendly!
Another great asset is the concierge and bell boy team. They are extremely friendly and efficient. Also they kept our hugh amount of luggage for the whole day after check out until our late departure to the airport. Also the hotel allows its guests to use the pool and health club facilities between check-out and departure time without any charge. We found that extremely generouse and appriciated the opportunity of still using the pool and getting a proper shower before our departure.
The location is a bit far away from the centre of orchard road, but you can reach it by taxi in about 10min and costs you only 5S$. Anyway there are shopping facilities all over the city and we found Bugis shopping mall within walking distance very convenient with a great variety. Actually much more comfortable than some extremely crowded parts on Orchard road. Also the Raffels hotel is within walking distance (about 12-15min).
All over we will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone travelling on business, leisure or family holiday!

When we did get to our room the bathroom was filthy so we complained and the next day they gave it a thorough clean and we decided to stay in it even though we had the offer of another room. The room however did look tired.
Also, I asked for the hotel to be advised of our early check in on the 27th (we had booked the room from the 26th). When I rang to confirm the hotel did not seem to be aware of our check in. Consequently we had a problem with breakfast on the 27th morning - they assumed we had only just checked in. They did however rectify this error.
We have always stayed at this hotel, however we might have to look elsewhere next time.

I'd say that this hotel is quite a good choice if you like to stay in less busy area. I love every morning when I was strolling along the road to MTR. Such a relaxing feeling! However, the hotel itself is quite reasonable. It may not be as good as 4 star hotel in many countries. But for Singapore hotel room standard, it's acceptable. Anyway, bathroom need to be improved. What I like the most about this hotel is thier staff. They are very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to those who like to get away from busy street with warm service of staff.

Complimentary facial coupons were useless as the hotel spa (which otherwise looked very nice) did not have any spaces available. I stayed in this hotel 4 times before and liked the quiet, good-quality and professional services offered so I kept coming back. But after my last trip in this hotel, I think I have to switch to other better places because plaza parkroyal has become incredibly noisy. We were awoken several times at midnights as well as in the mornings by very loud and noisy people in the hall hollering and talking. They laughed and talked aloud in mandarin. They could be from China, I'm not sure, anyway they are loud enough to wake a person from sleep in the room. And these people also litter the place with their food-related garbage. I think the hotel should do something about this, this hotel is not the same anymore. I think there is no ventilation in the room. There is a good air-con that brings air into the room, but nothing to bring air outward so it gets stuffy or carbon dioxide level rises in the room after sometime. Thank you.

Overall good stay, except that we were not told of the renovations when we booked the room. We went there to rest after a long flight from Europe and had to put up with the drilling and banging from the renovations. I really like the location as Arab Quarter is really quite beautiful & there are some very nifty little design places opening up in the old shops as well as an amazing Egyptian restaurant within walking distance. It is about a 5 min work to the Bugis MRT or there is a bus stop directly out the front (u can use the MRT card on both), although there is a fantastic food court at Bugis Village, which is definitely is worth a visit. A taxi to the city centre only costs a couple of dollars, otherwise it is about a 10min walk. We loved the fact that we could walk around in the early hours of the night/day and feel completely safe. Also must note that the gym is extremely large & has every machine you could ever imagine and is right next to the pool & bar which makes for a great view during your workout. I will definitley be staying here on my next visit to Singapore.

Booked for a Twin room but was given a Triple, no complain. Location is 5 minutes walk from Golden Mile Complex where a few buses take you to and from Kuala Lumpur. Nearest shopping mall I think was the Suntec City or Marina Square. Not the busiest part of town but getting around via buses or cabs is easy generally anywhere in Singapore. Staff's friendliness was nothing to shout about. Rooms are relatively clean. Overall it's above average. In comparison, hotels in Singapore are a lot more expensive than the neighbouring country Malaysia. For the price you pay a 3 star in Singapore, you can get a decent 4-5 star hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

Excellent service, we arrived on transit at 7:00am on a Sunday morning, and I had even lost the confirmation letter. They had everything on file and let us check in straight away. We did request a non-smoking room but none were available until 2:00 pm but they let us check in straight away and then we were able to upgrade the room to non-smoking for free later that day, they even gave us 2 extra free buffet breakfast for the kids for both days of our stay. Very friendly courtious staff. Would highly recommend for people travelling with children. Excellent pool with kids pool adjoining. Good food. Room service great. Allaround excellent value for money. I have paid a lot more and got a lot less.

Despite asking for a front room, we were allocated a room at the back looking into the brick wall of a building. As we arrived late at night, we took the room on the provision that we be moved the next day to a front room as requested. However, the next day we were told that there were no front rooms available, but after much complaining we were eventually moved to a front room, overlooking the street. But it was a disappointing experience, which I hope would not be repeated in future. Apart from that, we were happy with our stay. Pool is superb. A good reason for staying here!

1 The staff did not give us breakfast vouchers which we had paid for thus we did not even know of the existence of this scheme at the hotel. This was very remiss of them. The brochure in the room advertised the Cafe Plaza open 6am until 12 but in fact when we wanted to go at 10 on the second morning it was too late. 2 The noise level was UNBEARABLE. We got very little sleep. We had requested a high floor and non smoking room. The room we had was a smoking room -we find that they tend to be shabbier than non smoking rooms. The room was right above the disco area, which didn't help given we had just had a 20 hour flight. 3 The swimming pool area was very nice indeed but the staff came across as rather apathetic. The room cleaners were very courteous and efficient. We definitely shall not be recommending the hotel to friends and we will definitely not stay there again. Given the service we received, we would rate it as expensive.
