First of all ,the hotel is well situated in the Orchard shopping town.so no need to pay surplus for taxi.The room is very nice ,size ,cleanliness etc.The food and beverage is also very good. It's also a very secure place.So I am very satisfied with the hotel.So next when coming to Singapore ,make sure to go to Phoenix Hotel.

This is only the second time in thirty years of traveling that I have felt moved to comment positively on a hotel. The Phoenix may be an older hotel, but the quality of service, friendliness of all staff encountered and the value for money offer a pleasant stay that I have not bettered. The reception staff are very helpful indeed, the dining staff were young but extremely pleasant and smiley. My weeny-one dropped a fork, by the time I had reached to pick it up a fresh one was placed on the table with a smile. The dining supervisor was a very pleasant and friendly, talkative even, quite a fuss made of our two young girls. Just very positive and pleasant, I would definitely stay there again.

Very helpful and professional staff, highly efficient house keeping, lobby very small gives you a bad first impression but do not bother, overall very satisfying, family room rate on the higher side and did not include any breakfast for us which was the only sore point

I liked it's location - very close to public transport, close to restaurants and malls. The rooms appear newly refurbished - very clean bathrooms, new bedding. Surprisingly quiet rooms (15th floor); adjoining rooms were a plus for families with 3 kids. Would've wanted free internet use even for a limited time (1 hour) just enough to check email. At that price, breakfast should be included.

Room did not have air con working. House keeping person removed a wine bottle within 5 mins of us leaving the room to check out. By the time we went back to the room, she was in the room and denied removing anything from the fridge. Shocking. Very poor hotel and not worth the money.

Customer Service was very good. Rooms where nice and clean. Spare Bed was a bad though! - but that's about it. No free water - considering you cannot drink tap water in Singapore that is a big no no! - I stayed at 2 hotels as I extended my stay - Phoenix and Crown Hotel opposite Phoenix. Crown gave free drinks in the fridge - which i felt was excellent!

Great service they upgraded us both stays, booked into room early. When leaving allowed us a day room for half an hour to shower and freshen up for free. Plenty of staff and a great Don Estelle character on front door. Stay there again.

Lobby area is too cramped, too close for comfort. Lounge and restaurant can use an improvement in terms of location and space. It needs more elevators, currently always cramped and too long to wait for the elevator to get to each floor. It's difficult to get a taxi at given time since the hotel is located at the back of Orchard Rd.
