As I was out most of the time, the old & rundown looking room did not bother me too much. The hotel lobby area seemed to have been renovated recently as it looked classy & modern but I can't say the same about the rooms! But for the accessibility of MRT in 5 minutes walk, and I only used the bed to sleep ... it wasn't too bad. However I wouldn't stay there next time. This should be changed so people are aware of the old run down and musty smelling rooms. we stayed in room 1331

First time we checked in to room 1021 and 1022 oh it is good view but the room 1021 but is cleaning so we tell the staff live the key at the counter cause we are going out but when we come back to get the key Wow! its a magic our room has gone it have been give to another guest what happen! and the hotel staff siad one of you must transfer to room 715 wow! verygood service of 4 star hotel so we tranfer both room to 715 and 712.

Very discourteous. they wanted to wait in the lobby for 2 hrs for checking in. when i raised my voice they alloted a room with lot of noice. though they promised to change never bothered . food and other facilities were ok

It was the worst experience. I would never have chosen this hotel if I had know that the renovations would have been so disturbing. The hotel should NOT sell rooms while this kind of noise is taking place. Even after a room change I could not escape the grinding and banging. I will not return to this hotel.

Hotel room has a damp smell and kind of old furnitures. I pay for deluxe room but still have to pay for internet usage. Location and view are OK.

Room smelled musty and decor was a little tired but good value for money. Great access to MRT - only $1.50 to Changi Airport. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. $6 cab to Orchard Rd. Would use this hotel again for stopover trip.

I stayed in the Excelsior wing. The place is in need of a refurbishment. Everything in the room is old and the room lacks cosiness and cheerfulness that you feel the need to get out. The window cannot be opened. I had a hard time opening the door. I would try other 3 star hotel next time.
