We stayed i the harbour suite and it was really excellent Great hotel and great service. Margaret Drummond, United Kingdom
Our second vist to Singapore the Madarin is a excellent hotel in a good location for transport and shopping. Staff was very freindly and always willing to help, you certainly get personal service. The choice at breakfast was amazing and good quality food. When eating out we would recommend Dirty Nellys near the hotel good value for the price and good service also take a taxi to Clarke Quay good choice of eating places and good value. Singapore is a great place to visit very clean and easy to get arownd, when travelling in the far east you should never miss the chance of visiting Singapore and give Madarin a visit. Excellent hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful: I celebrated my Birthday in Singapore and the hotel left a beautiful present of oriental notelets and a birthday card in my room and i did not even mention it was my birthday. Hotel is close to Raffles/Raffles Tower shopping complex (fab) and is just a short walk from the Singapore Eye which is even taller than the London Eye;the circuit takes approx 30 mins and you get wine and canopies all for $30 (sing dollar 2-67 to the £)
In September the F1 circuit will be finished and it passes close to the hotel. you can see it from some of the rooms,,,great for F1 fans,
The hotel was also lovely and quiet (a must for me) the room service was excellent and the Chef's Nasi Goreng was the best I have ever tasted in SE Asia,
Buffet breakfast is huge- fab again
The beautiful spar is a must..i had the light legs treatment $80 Sing and i was walking on Air
I have only one small point...the pool is v large..but boringly oblong..and no waterfall -i love romantic pools...so perhaps giving the pool a little free form lolok with lots of lovely little waterfalls would just be the cherry on the cake...but I still give the top score 10 out of 10;
i have stayed in the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong also -the two are v different styles
HK is very traditional (loved the chinese tea set in all the rooms) and Singapore MO is much more Modern boutique -they are both beautiful in their own ways... the water filled reception lift area is well...what can I say again.....just fab
So what are you wating for...you will have a great timei.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Beautifull rooms, we got a free upgrade to a junior suite! Perfect service in de clublounge. Best fitnessroom I have ever seen in a hotel. Allover cleanliness, friendlyness and service in the hotel was great. We will be back. Mervyn JONES, United Kingdom
I have been to Singapore many times before and stayed at other Hotels but In my opinion the Mandarin Oriental is by far the BEST I've stayed in. As previous reviews have said All the staff are really helpful and you are treated as someone special. The food was excellent and the breakfast choice has to be seen to be believe. I had a harbour view room and my only very small complaint was the traffic road noise early in the morning, but I am a light sleeper so next time I will ask for a room higher up .
In conclusion I can only endorse what has been said about this hotel and I look forward to my return visit Frank Crane, United Kingdom
wow what a fantastic experience the most brilliant hotel you could wish to stay in every aspect of the hotel is just perfection every time. Etienne Schlunz, New Zealand
Certainly the most outstanding hotel my wife & I have stayed in, ever! The standard of accomodation and cleanliness was excellent. The most notable feature however was the staff's attentiveness. They were always more than ready to assist with anything, and always carried out their tasks with an eagerness to please, and a ready smile. The breakfast experience needs to be mentioned as well... we were greeted at the restuarant reception every morning with enthusiasm, and escorted to the table of our choice. The breakfast fare was in one word "wow"! Every type of food you could want, and if apparently not on display, easily ordered from the constantly attentive staff, and whisked to your table in no time. Empty dishes of completed courses taken away immidiately, and coffee or tea constanly refilled.Just a wonderfull start for the day.
The business centre was very helpfull with internet access etc, and the housekeeping was excellent with three service calls a day to ensure your every need was met.
The pool area was lovely, with a large pool and gardened surround. We were again met on arrival, escorted to our selected area, supplied with two fluffy towels each, set out on loungers, and suppliied with a bottle of ice-cold water right-away. Magazines & papers on supply, as well as complimentary little samles of sorbet or ice-cream.
We spent 14 days at the hotel, and throughout felt appreciated as valued quests, and during all the time, cosseted and spoilt. The night-duty manager Peter Lignum, United Kingdom
After a very long flight, we arrived at 7am at the hotel and asked if it was possible to have the room. We were told that we would have to pay half the room daily rate, but that it would be ready in a couple of hours. We went to the pool area to wait, but unfortunately there was a lot of noise from a building site across the road. When the room was ready we were so glad to be able to get a rest, but what we weren't told was that there was refurbishment going on in the hotel, so had to put up with a constant noise, so no rest! The hotel itself is very good, clean and modern but the interior design leads to noise in the rooms from the bar on the 4th floor. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had - so much choice, well presented and tasty.
As we had to catch an early flight when leaving, and had breakfast included in our package, we asked if we could eat early. This was not possible, but it was suggested that a takeaway breakfast delivered to the room would be available. In comparrison to the breakfast we had enjoyed this takeaway was very poor. Also there was a charge of approx. 31GBP. Needless to say we refused to pay that!!
It is also worth noting that when checking in make sure that you have got exactly what you had booked. We were told that we had room only when we had a booking for room and breakfast. Make sure you take confirmation of your booking! Alan Garvey , United Kingdom
I reserved and paid for 2 Seaview rooms but was given 2 "City" view rooms, that had a horrible view, definitely not the skyline of Singapore! When I made Reception aware, it was too much trouble to move so was given complimentary dinner. While this was excellent, the stay was very disappointing as it was the view that I booked for. Also there was confusion about the complimentary meal. I had very high expectations as this was booked for a special occasion and I left appreciating how good the hotel and staff are but disappointed with the experience. BRENDAN MCCANNY, United Kingdom
