Excellent choice for the money. From the moment the limo arrived at the main entrance we were impressed. Three smiling professionals helped us out the limo and with the luggage, two young ladies welcomed us and escorted us to our room (it's size OK), even the asst. exec. manager chatted with us for a few minutes in the impressive lobby of the hotel. Location is great on the busiest area of the city, Orchard Rd., close to MRT (electric train) and bus stops. Superior room was rather cramped for 3 adults. Complimentary breakfast was quite good although they could do better in terms of variety. Front desk staff were very helpful and accomodating. Checking in and out was hassle-free.
Housekeeping took rather long to deliver requests for some room items - like pillows.

Free breakfast should have an option if you want it to have it in your room for free or room service charge if you opted to eat in your room. My free breakfast forfeited because I opted to have my breakfast in my room. They should have just charged me for room service and not totally the breakfast meal since i have a free breakfast.

Great location, just a 5-minute walk from the Orchard MRT. Shopping centers and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. After being on a cruise ship for 17 days the hotel room was wonderful. There was both a glass enclosed roomy shower stall and a full size tub. Ten foot ceiling, computer desk, two side chairs, safe, refrig., drawers. Nice location w/lots of shopping centers and food places. Yummy breakfast buffet came w/room. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Hotel location is very closed to main road just walking distance which lots of interested things to see, especially during special events. The administration has a flexibility as I was easily switching room. The kids and hospitality room is something skipped by many hotels that I stayed with it before, but Orchard Hotel has it.

We have stayed here several times over the years, as a couple, with a baby, and now with 2 kids, and find it very good value for money, service excellent, location very convenient. The hotel is well-appointed, plenty of room for our family (2 Queens) and pool area much enjoyed. This time the bar fridge was not working, and had some trouble with the TV, but the staff ARE responsive and accommodated us with a late checkout that was very appreciated with our 2 small children. Definitely will be back again!

The Front Desk was was very helpful and accommodating and the check in was fast and efficient. The Concierge on the other hand was another story... rude, abrupt, dismissive and absolutely unhelpful with a supercilious attitude.We asked for baby sitting services for our son from house keeping and despite the short notice, they were able to arrange one. The baby-sitter was wonderful- friendly, efficient and very kind. Rooms are neat and clean and the deluxe room we were in was quite a good size. Housekeeping ,though slow does get the work done. Room service was slow as well but the food was quite good. The location of the hotel is great,close to all the malls

After a long flight it was wonderful to be met by the hotel limo, arranged by the concierge via email. The hotel is comfortable and convenient in every way and the decor and ambience very pleasing. As soon as you arrive staff are only to eager to assist you in everyway possible. Check-in is a smoothly run operation that takes no time at all. All staff are genuinely interested in you as a hotel guest and do a fantastic job looking after you, whether it be making sure your drinks remain replenished at the bar or adjusting room cleaning times to fit in with you if you sleep in late. Every hotel employee I had dealings with was always extremely helpful and accomodating of my needs, but more importantly, always smiling and taking time out to say hello and can they be of assistance to you. There's nothing particularly special about this hotel, given the price they charge. It's quite expensive for what they offer in service, rooms, etc. With that price, they even charge broadband internet from the room, paid like SGD2.5 for 5 mins use!.... A quite good hotel, location was perfect. Just around the corner is the end of Orchard road with all its shopping facilities. One disapointment was how the hotel treated us ,on check in problems our friends experienced when they came early to the hotel. They promissed to pass our complaints to the higher management and to come back with an explanation and maybe also to compensate for their bad behaviour, this never happened and we got the feeling that it was intentionally delayed all the time through our stay. Summary: Hotel good but the coorperation and service from the hotel employes not verry service minded. We will thereby not use this hotel another time.

A large tourist hotel in good location. Very busy staff do not seem to be able to cope. Room not cleaned, difficulty getting even cutlery or coffee at breakfast. Staff seem inexperienced and in need of better training. Have to question management. 3 stars at best.Room was Ok, but turned ouit that every room is non smoking and reason for poor rating is that they did not clean first day and had to get duty manager to arrange late at night.
Had to ask 3 different waiters to even get cutlery on table. Almost impossible to get tea or coffee at breakfast. Final morning OK as a manager was directing staff who in the main did not appear to know what they were supposed to do.
Breakfast choice good, but terrible service. Good location at bottom of Orchard Road. no MRT station close and have to wait for taxis if busy.

amazing hotel and quite cheap for singapore.if you want to be in the shopping center area and the green part of singapore you should choose Orchard hotel. Although it is located at the end of the Orchard Road you can even get to the city center by foot(headquarters,marina) in about 45 minutes.By taxi that would be 5-7 minutes.I recommand to stay in singapore for at least 2 days.If you do get bored you can always visit the island.very nice experience!

We had a horrible experience with this hotel staff. They were rude and unprofessional and showed a complete lack of understanding.
We were scheduled to spend two nights at the Orchard Hotel. We missed our initial night due to a flight delay. But we still wanted to spend two nights in Singapore so we needed to book an extra night.
We asked the hotel to give us credit for the first night missed so that we could apply it towards the extra night, but the hotel management refused. So we lost the money for that first night. Furthermore, when we tried to book an extra night, they tried to charge us 50% more than our original rate!
Not only did we lose the money for the first night missed, they wanted to gouge us for even more money on the extra night! Such a proposal was truly outrageous. We ended up switching hotels for the second night. Needless to stay, I will never stay at this hotel again.

The staff at the Reception was extremely helpfull and cooperative. My wife and I reached the hotel around 7:00 am (we had earlier requested for a very early check in). We were invited to have our breakfast, which was consistently good. A room was given to us at 9:30.
Our stay was pleasant and I certainly recommend Orchard Hotel to visitors who want to stay in comfort AND be located right in the heart of the city.
My only 'unpleasant' experience was that the room i booked, I was later informed was "not available" and that the only available ones were one step higher and expensive. This left a bad taste in what was an otherwise a good experience with both the hotel and HotelTravel.Com

Service of staff was very poor. The person doing my check in processing was very unfriendly and not very professional. She gave me an electronic card key that did not initially work in the elevator. My complains were not well received. Finally a service man was kind enough to give me a replacement electronic key card that worked. The service in the resturant was horrible. I ordered for a simple menu item for lunch, with the waiter's suggestion, specifically making sure that I was not ordering an exotic or special item. I was told that the food will be ready in 15-20 minutes. After hearing the phase that "food will be coming in 5 minutes or so," I finally left witout food and wasting about 1 hour in the process. The resturant waiter and the manager was not apologetic at all for their poor service.

Typical Tourist Hotel ! To many beds and Cafeshop for breakfast is much to small! People trafic like New York Airport. Air-Condition is very old ! Good size rooms which were very clean. Fine location near shopping and easy access to museums and other attractions. Good selection of food at the breakfast. Employees were very nice. In general a very nice place. Noise was a problem. One lady would scream while swimming in the afternoon and a man staying in the above would bang on the wall and move the furniture around keeping people from sleeping at night.

I don't use many facilities when I stay in a hotel. I just want a nice room with television, good bathroom and air conditioning. Hence, for me, the hotel was expensive, given the facilities that I used. The taste of the Chinese food I had from room service was poor; very bland. In truth, I can cook Chinese food much better than that myself. I also ate a curry from the Malaysian restaurant, which was so salty that I ate it *only* because I had paid for it.
When I checked out, there was no facility for me to pay uisng my Singapore DBS Bank ATM/debit card. This needs to be remedied. I am sure that many Singaporean businessmen put up clients in hotels, and it would be very useful for them to be able to pay with their debit cards instead of using a credit card. In connection with this, when I was advised that I needed to pay the bill with my credit card, I discovered that the hotel staff had already actually taken money from my card on arrivasl, instead of simply swiping the card!
