We really enjoyed our stay in the Kitchener Parkroyal. So large, relaxing; so close to interesting places and great shopping. The staff were friendly. At the moment, with the renovation that is happening at the entrance to the hotel, it is messy. But no doubt the result will be worth the inconvenience.
Perhaps our one disappointment was, when we asked at the desk whether we needed to reserve a large taxi for our trip to the airport, we were advised no. But actually we did, and that meant that it took some time for a taxi to arrive and the trip to the airport was tight.

I stayed four nights in December, 2007 and two nights last week. The stay was very good. I didn't face any inconvenience of any sort. I will come back for my next stay soon. Anyway just one observation: The people at the reception seem to be very busy all the time. I noticed that patrons are just standing before them without being noticed by any one of them until such time actual serving takes place. On my check out I stood there for a good four minutes before one girl at the counter told me " the other person will serve you".It would be nice to say hello or some thing like " i will be with you shortly" to the waiting customers.
The checkout welcome should be in fact, be more cordial than the checkin welcome.
Over to you.

Airconditioning control was defective. Television was also defective. Near Mustafa mall but personally, I think the mall was too cramped and not ideal for leisurely shopping. Other bigger and better shopping malls you need to take the bus or train. 5 min walk to nearest train station. Not much choice of restaurants around - mostly Indian food. I will probably stay in a hotel along Orchard road next time.

The hotel was adequate but nothing special. Good buffet breakfast. Handy for the MRT but a bit out of the main city area. Rooms had nice bathrooms but the rooms themselves looked a bit tired.

The hotel is very nice and seem to be newly renovated. A 4-star hotel. The only thing that didn't satisfy me is that the breakfast buffet food is the same everyday which i didn't avail on the 5th day. Other than that, everything is very satisfying. We feel like the hotel rate must be higher than what we paid. because we really feel it is luxurious. Thanks to hoteltravel.com for a very good hotel and very great deal. room newly renovated. High ceiling. all the thing we request were easily given. nice buffet choices. concierge very helpful. tipped us what to ride, what to do. near mrt and bus station. Easy to get taxi and near big roads.

We found a great offer online for this hotel, which turned out to be very good value. The room was nicely decorated, a decent size, and with a good bathroom. The breakfast buffet (included in the room cost) was also impressive with ample choice.

The location of hotel is excellent for MRT. Staff were very friendly & helpful nothing was to much trouble. Lots of choice for breakfast but there was sometimes a lack of cultery, cups & glasses The tables were not cleared & relaid quick enough & this caused problems finding a table. On the first day, the receptionist said there was no smoking room left so i told her i requested her to have a non smoking room becoz i arranged the non smoking room when i booked. She upgraded my room as there was no more non smoking room left. It was the best thing so i enjoyed staying in the upgraded room.
This time was the third time staying at this hotel. i like this time most but on the last day, when my friend asked why there was price differences between booking through the internet especially this site and the phone becoz my friend was about to book for me through the phone but it was twice expensive than through this site so i booked through hoteltravel.com. However the receptonist didn't give a proper answer and even said to my friend not to visit Singapore if it is expensive to stay. My friend told her whether she wanted my friend to report this happening to the singapore tourism board then she appologized him. It was the least pleasant thing while i was staying. I think i'll stay at this hotel again for my convenience. I hope i don't want to have this kind of unpleasant experience again.^^

We were very surprised that this hotel has a 3 star rating - honestly we thought it was 4 star or more. The bathroom facilities were amazing, beautiful, just lovely. We have always stayed at 3 star hotels, this was at least a 4 star. Staff were excellent, professional, helpful, the place was clean, beautiful rooms, facilities - I recommend you stay here, honestly I believe the star rating will increase very soon.

Good location, beside the Mustafa Center and close to Farrer Park MRT station. Recently renovated, clean room and nice bathroom. Restaurant was enjoyable. Ample breakfast included in room rate. Friendly staff. Good value for price we paid for the room. Nice pool and steam bath. Only minus, the AC was too cold and thermostate did not work. Recommendable hotel!

The room is very big and clean. Very near to the MRT station. The hotel is undergoing a major upgrade which I find it very hard to find the entrance initially. The shopping centre nearby is hopeless, but there are plenty of foods. The area is OK if you like Indian Cuisine, you can hardly find other cuisine. The pillows and blankets are very bad quality, which I did not sleep well.
Bathroom is OK.
The service is poor.
The staffs are not well-trained. One day before I arrived, I was told that the check in time is 2pm, and I can not check in before that. On the day I check in, I was served by another staff, and they checked me in 12pm sharp. I think they just trying to bully Youth travellers.
The hotel explicitly publish in tha manual that "Tipping is not neccesary in Singapore" However, each and every staff expect tips!! I saw a customer keep saying thank you to a bell boy but the bell boy replied " Yes, Yes, Yes, only thank you." which I think it was very rude!
Overall OK but I will not recommend to anyone until they complete the upgrading works.

This a value for money hotel. There are lots of restaurants nearby that serve Indian cuisine. The Ferrar park MRT station is very close to the hotel. The hotel rooms were well appointed. I have only two negative remarks to make: a) the room temperature couldn't be controlled with the system provided in the room. The room used to get chilled within a short time and I had to switch off the air con. Secondly the wash basin drain was choked. This should have been noticed by the service staff and accordingly repaired.

Finally, a hotel which suits children! Large rooms, a huge outdoor pool, quiet nights and public transport just out the front door. This hotel was in the middle of an upgrade on the upper floors. We had to stay in a smoking room, but were not bothered by any smoke residue. The air-conditioning was somewhat overly cool in the main (children's) room, so bring something warm. The room itself (a family room) was the best on the trip for space, with a huge, separate room for the children with two large, single beds and our main, Queen-sized bed in the connecting room. The bathroom was off our bedroom. It was spacious, but the old tub and tired fixtures made it look grubby, and the plugs didn't work properly in the bath or the sink. The drain was very loud. For all that, the shower worked well and there was no trouble with water supply. The carpet was stained and worn. There was a fridge with mini-bar, and free instant coffee and tea with your own kettle, but no milk, just the powdered stuff. We bought a small container to use while we were there. Milk is expensive in Singapore. On the plus side, the staff was excellent and tried very hard to understand us. Their english was well-spoken and clear. The morning breakfast buffet, (which was included), was a godsend! Our 6 and 8 year olds loved the porridge, cereal and pancakes. We loved the fresh fruit, hot milk with our coffee, and pastries. Bacon, eggs, potato cakes, toast, etc. were also available and in constant

The things I liked about this hotel were,
1. The location of the hotel is very convenient for shopping at bargain prices.
2. Value for money paid was ok.
The things I did not like were,
1. Toilet had a few tiles not fixed properly. After flushing, it made a noise similar to the one when aeroplane takes off. Also, switching on light in toilet made a strange noise.
2. No in-room safe.
3. In-room dining service took more than an hour to deliver food. When reminded about the order, the reply was "it is on its way" but did not receive anything in next 15 minues. Second reminder had the same reply. When we finally received the food, some items in the order were missing.
4. We had booking for 4 nights but the hotel made mistake in calculating check-out date and disabled our key. They did not believe that I had 4 nights booking and tried to convince me that the I should check out. After arguing, finally hotel staff enabled the key.
5. Elevators were very busy for the first 2 days.

We had a pleasant stay overall, however we point out that the callous attitude of the reception/front desk is awful. They are not at all warm in ther conversation with the customer, nor are they friendly to us. They need some severe coaching lessons on customer service or mangament in this regard.

I had planned a holiday with my entire family and after hours of research on the net, settled for The New Park hotel. I must mention that I had a great week staying at this hotel. At the price I paid, I had mentally told myself not to expect any grandiose but was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel extremely convenient in all ways. Although the Chinese restaurant was undergoing renovation there was adequate options for dining. The hotel is very conveniently located and getting to anywhere in the city was easy. Rooms were spacious and had adequate appointments. However, I do wish to suggest a few things:
A service directory in the room may help first timers to acclimatize with the hotel faster.
There is scope for the baggage handling to be better
The plumbing system in the hotel bathrooms is very noisy and the noise travels across floors each time somebody uses the cistern flush.
The Front Desk staff may wish to smile more (Of course, with 527 rooms and just two of them on each shift, can't blame them!!!)
One of the elevators did not work for the entire week that we were there and meant long waiting times, especially at peak hours, to get to the lobby from your floor or vice versa.
On the whole, it was a good experience and a pat on the back to hoteltravel.com for their assistance too! For a holiday maker who does want to put his money to good use, this is definitely the hotel. Cheers...

The advantage of this hotel is its excellent location. Mustafa shopping mall is at a stone throw distance. My Room experience started badly. The moment I plugged in my Laptop for charging... the fuse of the room went off. Thankfully it was set right within 5-6 minutes. I had to use a table lamp plug point to charge the Laptop. The hotel has scarcity of staff. I had to help myself for my luggage from the taxi to the room. Later when I upgraded my room to a WiFi enabled room, again I had to shift my luggage myself from the old to the new room. This new room at the 16th floor was fabulous with a very good view outside.
The Breakfast is served in a large hall with very Basic Quality Furniture. The menu was quite wide and the staff ensured that the serving bowls were never empty.
For a superior room, I found USD 81 per night a little higher, though it included the breakfast. Ideally USD 65-70 would be a good bargain.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms may require some revamping but on the overall, it was very pleasant and convenient. The Hotel had good restaurants, good menu (a la carte); post office in the basement with small shopping centre; swimming pool; washing machine, etc, all available. Intercontinental buffet was excellent. Otherwise also, the food was fresh, hygenic and well prepared (Breakfast could have had variety). Yet, I would place it with such high ranking. Stone's throw from Ferrer Parkl MRT, next to Serangon Road, conveninet to walk to many destinations in Little India area. Would not mind returning on next visit

When I reached the Hotel at 8.00AM the room is not ready. Still accoupied. Reception staff told ( not requested) me to come arround 9.30 AM. So finally I need to wait more than 1.30 hour to check in my room.
I booked for a double bed, but they offerd me twin bed room. I stayed for 3 nights. The Hotel staff never changed my room with double bed. It was disappointed me & my wife.
The hotel location ( little India) is good, since the Mustafa Shopping centre & the MRT station is just few yards away.

Good accomodation in an interesting area. Little India provided very cheap and interesting food eg Hawker stalls and Markets which we did not find elsewhere in Singapore. It was in easy walking distance to other areas we were interested in eg The Arab area & Belastier st, and very close to the excellent public transport system. We also thought the Swimming pool was of a high standard, but the sauna was a bit inconsistent in it's functioning. Both of these were close to a gymnasium area (which we did not use) & the laundry. These facilities were always attended by helpful and courteous staff. The tour desk was always attended and we organised 2 tours from there. The cost and manner in which the tours were organised was very good. Our room was serviced daily (clean sheets every day) and when there was a problem with the shower it was repaired without us having to ask.The person responsible for servicing our room accessed our room once without knocking.

Staff at the reception desk is NOT very friendly, either check in or check out. I still smell trace of smoke in my non smoking room. But location is VERY GOOD, just a few steps away from Mustafa and MRT.

For a Hotel that has 600 odd rooms to find that when you visit the pool after touring round the city for most of the day that it only has three loungers on which to relax is not very credible, and that they closed the bar at half time through a premiership football match and the time was only around midnight was just the pits I would not stay here again
