This is the second time we have stayed at the Meritus Negara. We like it because of its location - close to Orchard Road but not on it to be too noisy - the size of the deluxe rooms and the friendliness of all staff. We cannit find any fault. The level of response when things did go wrong (the safe was locked by the previous occupant and there was a faulty appliance) was quick and efficient. It is within minutes of the Orchard Road shopping area and very convenient for those who wish to use the MRT. Orchard Station is just about 5 minutes away. A hotel worthy of recommendation....

Currently foyer under renovation,rooms very sparsely furnished need to br updated, no ambience,breakfast room internal no natural light, more like office/ works canteen furnished with cheap tables and chairs, breakfast selection at best average. good location within 100 meters of Orchard road. taxi drivers still refer to it as Negara Hotel. definately 3 Star not 4 star,therefore overpriced.

Unfortunately they did not have the type of room that I asked for available on the night that I checked in but they moved me the next day. I suspect that they may have just disregarded my stated preferences, but who knows? Otherwise the hotel was very nice and well located.

Hotel and staff excellent but be warned, the hotel is undergoing a major renovation resulting in a lot of noise during daytime!. I found this very annoying as it wasn't possible to relax in my room during daytime. Work scheduled to be completed by end of April 2008.

Although we arrived at hotel past 2PM, our rooms were not available and we had to wait for
another hour to finally get to our rooms. There was construction being done in the hotel and
we were advised about he expected noise/banging only when we were checking in. It was
supposed to end at 6PM but they were still working til around 6:45PM.

Have stayed at this location for over 10 years -- even when it was "Meirtus Negara." New ownership has upgraded the facilities somewhat -- mostly cosmetically -- but it remains a good value in a great location.

I was travelling alone for the first time in a foreign country and I found the hotel very decent. The music in the lobby every night and a good breakfast to start my day- are the two things i am always going to remember.There are nice bars and pubs around to hang out at night which i found out only after i reached there. This is an orchard Road Hotel without Orchard price tag and noise.

Very good hotel, very friendly staff, only minus was the fitness centre who was out of order for remodelling. Breakfast in hotel is good, but always the same... only the eggs change (good cook). Restaurant for dinner was excellent. Nice pool with jacuzzi, good food, enjoyeble drinks in the lobby with live music.

The location was good. Close to transportation stores and nightlife. A little difficult finding at first but the staff was very helpful as I had to check in late do to travel and had no problem. A very beautiful hotel inside.
