The room was fantastic. clean, spacious and well air conditioned. The bed ,in particular (king size) was extremely comfortable, much neede after a 13hour flight from England. We were able to get to our room by 1030hrs, 3.5hrs prior to our official check in time. This was a godsend as we had just arrived from England, needing a shower and a rest before going out to explore the great city of Singapore. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was superb. It was well positioned for us, as we did not want to be in Orchard road, but closer to...

Lovely Hotel, though I booked and paid for a nonsmoking room with kingsize bed nearly 3mths prior. When we arrived we were offered a non-smoking room (our choice) but with 2 single beds, or a smoking room with a kingsize bed. My husband and I smoke occasionally so thought we would take the smoking room as it had a king bed. And with no balcony or windows that opened we hard a terrible time sleeping as all you could smell was the smoke. I was very disappointed from our room aspect, but the rest of the hotel and staff were lovely. The MRT transport is a fair distance from hotel, so you have to get a taxi everywhere you go.

Although we expressed our thanks to the personelle at Grand Copthorne, it would be very much appreciated if you could also let them have this review. Thank-you for the opportunity to supply some positive feedback for a great 3 night stopover on the way home to Australia.

Great family service and food in the buffet restaurant, Brio's, was fantastic quality and choice. Staff couldn't have been nicer to my 3 year old daughter, they provided an extra bed and late check out at no extra cost. We were very impressed.

I have stayed here now four times this year, yet amazingly noone even recognises when my wife and I showed up and it is four recent stays and same front desk personnel. The food which we typically have raved about has got worse on each stay the Buffets were excellemt now they are below average we will look to stay in another hotel next trip to Singapore in a few weeks.

The hotel was close to shopping and Clarke Quay, however even though we asked for non-smoking, the room still smelt of cigarettes and we had to be moved. This happened on both occasions.

The room was very comfortable (with a good view of the river) and the hotel was conveniently located in terms of touring in its immediate area. Breafasts were very good. The room was large and well supplied. Requests for service were answered rapidly and pleasantly. The restaurant breakfast, which was what we used, had a varied menu with fine food. The room and all areas that we saw were very clean and well cared for. As noted, the room was large and comfortable, the breakfasts were enjoyable and there was easy access to transportation and to restaurants in the immediate area. Severral good restaurants were within walking distance and travel time to sited in the area (Little China, Little India and Arab Street) was short. We usually traveled by taxi and taxi service was always available without waiting.

My boyfriend fell sick, he was down with some bad stomachache & I was the only person he wanted around therefore I couldn't get around to buy little stuff like even 100 plus to help replenish mineral. When I called the front desk I was told that there was no medication nor 100 plus & if I need the concierge to get it for me, I will be charged. Now this is totally ridiculous, the 7-11, gas station were all within walking distance, how could they charge me for transport????????? This is disgusting as I did not even put up a fuss when told there's not even a decent can of 100 plus within the hotel, they had the cheek to charge me for transport to buy it. If you call it services, most hotel will even go all the way for you to get it immediately without any hesitation. I was very disappointed with the customer serivce I got from a supposedly good hotel. I will never ever come back again.

I had a superior room on the fourteenth floor with a nice view of the Singapore River. It was quiet, clean, well decorated and adequately furnished. I found the staff to be welcoming, courteous and helpful. Prior to staying here I had read good and bad reviews about this hotel. However, I thought it was good value for money and a suitable place to stay on business, or for leisure. I would return and I would recommend the Grand Copthorne Waterfront to friends/associates seeking a mid-priced hotel in Singapore.

This hotel from the outside was a majestic looking building with extremely helpfull staff ready to assist you with the desk staff being the most attentive. The facilities were excellent with the food at breakfast top notch. There were only two slight complaints with this stay at the Copthorne and they were that construction work was ongoing outside on a new building and ongoing work inside and that the room was a little tired but these were only minor and only prevented us from giving top remarks for all aspects of our stay.

The hotel was quite nice but a bit far from the action such as Clarke Quay, China Town etc ... The Staff were curtious and efficient .. the swimming pool was small and not well positions on the 6th floor which was being renovated ... Breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of food ... I would stay next time in Singapore at a hotel closer to Clarke Quay ..

Since there were Airshow2008 during our stay, we had to choose this hotel. The hotel is located far from bus stop and there are no shopping center around there. And the pool is so small and no facilities for dringking and food were there. Breakfirst was So So.. Vegetables were not fresh and a few kinds of dishes. Just good point is only 5 min to take to the Clark queue by taxi. In addition, we heard from the Hoteltravel.com our room grade is Delux, but we reconized our room was just Superior grade when our came back home eventhough the hotel told us the room was Clup grade. It could be Delux, but never can be Clup. Anyway, the Hoteltravel.com is incredible and reasonable for price and service.

This hotel is in an excellent location for a city break. Nestled on the side of the river, it is a brief walk over the bridge and 5 minutes up along the bankside until you start approaching a multitude of restaurants and bars in the different quay areas. The hotel rooms are a good size, clean and most importantly sport a large comfortable bed. Alcoholic drinks in Singapore are expensive, howeve,r the hotel bar prices are comparable and not set at the usual, ridiculous twice the price of a local bar tarif. There is building work near the hotel (as in most Asian cities), however, the rooms are adequately sound proofed to ensure you have a peaceful stay. Taxis are readily available for you at the hotel lobby enterance and there is little problem with trying to find your way home at night after a couple bottles of wine due to the knowledgeable taxi drivers and the established name of the hotel and location. I would have no issue with recommending this hotel for a city break

We only stayed 24 hours but found the hotel room, breakfast good. The ability to store luggage between check out time and departure time plus have use of pool shower before departing for airport was excellent.Being so close to the Canal made up for not being close to MRT Station. Taxi's were readily available but MRT was a bus or taxi trip away. We did use the free comuter bus to Orchard Road which was very convienient.

This hotel is probably a 3.5 to 4 star. Definitely not 5. I wouldn't pay more than S$150-S$160 to stay here. Rooms are very small. The bathroom had an annoying foul smell. The roof top pool is very small as well. The hotel was under major renovation (noisy!) and surrounding the hotel there are major construction as well - probably finish by 2009! The Cafe Brio for buffet dinner is probably about the only memorable thing. Holiday Inn Atrium across the road would give you more bang for your buck.

On arriving a little late due to flight times I booked in. I settled into the room and tried the internet toi check e-mails - it did not work. I thought I would watch a movie did not work. I spent the next two hours trying to get these services up and putting up with staff coming and going but clearly not knowing what they were doing. Aftyer this I went ot use the toilet and I could see the flush was broken. After my experience with the movies and internet I decided to repair the toilet mechanism myself - at least I would have a bit more comfort afterwards. The finish to the room was poor - very amateur tiling and cutting in the materials. So, akthough the view of the cxreek was good - I did not feel refresshed or thaqt I had my dollars worth in the morning.

The hotel was in a good location and of high quality. The room (expensive option with free internet) was well appointed and large. The quality of the bathroom was good with all the expected shampoos and soaps as one would expect to find. Breakfast area was a little busy, but the food quality was good even though it is a standard fare found in most corporate hotels around the region. One complaint that I did have is an insistent house service staff that kept ringing the phone to obtain permission to make up the room. In the last few days of the stay the staff just entered the room without making much of an attempt to announce their presence.

A well priced hotel, excellent and always helpfull staff at any level. It's location enabled a comfortable walk along the river to chinatown and further to Clarke Quay, judging by the number of corporate parties being held on sucessive nights I can only conclude a very popular and sucessful hotel.

The ambience is good. The dinner spread was good. It would be good if there is a good lounge area, as the check out time is 12.00 noon, for people catching late evening flights.
