The hotel was very central, and excellent value. The room was more spacious that we had anticipated, and the standard of cleaniness was excellent - clean towels each day. We were able to leave our luggage after we had checked out, until we had to leave for our flight allowing us the chance to have another almost full day in Singapore to sight-see without the hassle of our luggage. And the storage was free! Concierge helpful, and the buffet breakfast was very good. The internet access in the foyer was also greatly appreciated - and cheap! The only good thing I can say about this hotel is the location. Everything else was bad. The "superior" room had a sub-standard air conditioner, the bathroom was terrible, housekeeping was poor, and the breakfast buffet was very basic.

The hotel did not provide with any tea/coffee (other than the water boiler). The refrigerator was empty (not even water). towels not fluffy. front office staff neither friendly nor helpful. seemed like a run-down property whose only real value was its location,and a couple of smiling faces.

The location of the hotel was great...it put us right in the center of the shopping district as well as gave us taxi and bus service right at the doorstep. The room was a bit run down but fairly clean. It was not ready yet when we arrived but we went out immediately after we got their so we just left our bags. We loved the fact that the bus stop was just outside and taxis were at our disposal.

The location is superb! It’s very convenient to MRT and Orchard Road. If your purpose of staying at Grand Central is just a place to rest and won't spend much time in the hotel, then Grand Central is a good choice because of lower rate. But do not expect too much. The room doesn't have amenities, safety vault, internet connection, limited pillows, and looks old but clean. Housekeeping is not 24 hours. Some staffs are cranky. I was just asking for an extra towel and pillow over the phone and they still have to ask me a lot of questions. For my next trip, if I can find a hotel that also has a good location and same or a bit higher rate, I wouldn't think twice to stay at that hotel.

Noisey room with aircon that was on permanently thru the night. Grubby windows. As this was a smokers room it seems they expect smokers to accept a lower grade of accomodation than non smokers. Great facade to the hotel belies the rooms. Fairly central to most shops and eateries, tho not a McD's in sight, gratefully. Room service ended too early in the evenings. So make sure you eat out if late. Dining room was a free for all and sit anywhere.

The breakfast room was dirty and there was absolutely no organisation, the food was quite often cold, and you had to sit at huge tables with people you did not know.It was not what we expected for our Christmas stay and we were very disappointed with this. We expected set tables with a more welcoming atmosphere, maybe service to the tables for drinks and things, also the staff are unhelpful in the breakfast room, we complained the baked beans were cold to be told, that they had only just been put out and therefore had not heated through yet by the candles underneath.The pool area was also quite dirty and not very welcoming.There is no where available to get a drink near the pool area. The bedrooms were actually fine, although our toilet was broken and the bath did not work, so we settled for a shower. The location however is excellent, although I did feel the description of the hotel itself is quite misleading

It is not worth US$68. The bathroom is poor, no exhaust fan and the shower spray is not in good condition. I booked a superior room with a queen-size bed, but they offer a double bed and a single bed. The room is too old.

You get what you pay for, the table cloths on the breakfast tables were filthy with the previous nights food stains. The bathroom was very old and the toliet leaked all over the floor. In future I would pay an extra $50 and go up a star. The location however was great.

It was the most horrible hotel I have stayed in. The bathroom was filthy with mold and mildew, the toilet won't flush. When reported, it took them four days before it was fixed, just the day we were checking out. The 'helpfulness' of the front desk was totally lacking. It takes them ten minutes to notice you to give you the room key. Oh yea...you have to drop off the room key when you go out for the day. I had asked for extra bed and told that it was not available and will be made available in a day. Never materialized. The breakfast was oily and disgusting. I ate toast (safest) everyday. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL ! Go somewhere else.
