The reception staff were rather abrupt but the concierge were friendly and helpful. We were a little worried by other reviews we had read but our room on the 12 th floor was clean and comfortable. The hotel is well situated and the included buffet breakfast was of reasonable standard with plenty of choices.

I stayed for 1 night (transit) in the Allson hotel singapore. I experienced a great help from the concierge who could track and find my lost luggage. Thanks a lot. Considering the room, it is somehow very old and needs to be renovated. The old furniture and bathroom do really need a whole restauration.

I arrived at The Allson much earlier than expected ( 8.00am ) in a wheelchair as I was very ill after flying in from Cairo. The staff were extremely helpful, organised a doctor to see me, early check in, extra cleaning of the room, etc. Our room was quiet, which enabled me to sleep well for the 2 days I was in bed, and the hotel close enough for my wife to go out and shop nearby. A great food court is right next door and Raffles hotel a short walk away. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would definitely be prepared to stay there again.

Only thing we did not like was the fact that only 2 coffee and 2 teabags were supplied each morning, if you needed extra there as a charge of $1 Singapore per bag. In all the many hotels we have stayed at we have never come across this custom before.

Very happy with our stay at the Allson, the rooms were clean and spacious and it was quite central to everything. We had a late flight out the next day and they allowed us to leave our luggage with the concierge and also have a shower before we left for our flight. Very happy with the hotel and I would definately recommend this hotel as a great place to stay

We have stayed in this hotel in Singapore many times and this hotel is one of the best. The staff are wonderful and would do anything for you, the rooms were cleaned superbly and the hotel itself is very clean and right in the heart of Singapore, five minutes away from the MRT and buses to all over the city right outside your door. All in all we can say it is perfect and we will definitely be going back next year as we always do for our main holiday.

An old hotel which has had some modifications-ie the bathroom had been re-tiled but the door, mirror were the originals.I think 'dowdy' best describes the hotel. Breakfast was good but the other restaurants had very limited menus

Coming from a cheap hotel in London, this was worth the money we paid for it. A large room with a spacious bathroom. It was cleaned well on three of the four days we stayed there. The staff were very friendly and willing to help in any way. The extra services were a great comfort to us, who had been travelling for the last 10 months. Things like local tips for travelling, holding baggage and allowing use of the change rooms and showers after a day of sight seeing before getting on the plane home, were most welcome. A good spot for reaching many of the favoured tourist destinations.

I really appreciated the honesty and the professionalism of staff particularly reception and cleaners. I forgot my passport in the safe and returned because I initially thought I had lost my mobile phone. The staff advised me about the safe issue and that saved me a lot of problems later down the track. The concierge's very helpful and professional.

Perfect location. Very near he MRT, I can go anywhere through the City Hall MRT access. For food and shopping, nearby places like Bugis and City Hall shops, plus local eating places around the area, more than provide for all my needs. The hotel is a nice hotel, nothing fancy, very straight forward, but clean, quiet and comfortable. The rooms are nice, not modern, but the amenities are more than enough for one's requirement. I will stay there again when I go back to Singapore for a convention in July of this year.

Good budget accommodation. Stayed with two other girlfriends on a shopping holiday. Great location with MRT within easy walk. Staff very helpful, good breakfast and doormen very friendly and happy to help with any queries re shopping areas, getting taxis etc. For value for money would recommend this hotel. Stayed in this hotel for two days. Room was good and clean, bathroom a little small but quite adequate. Location is excellent -- walking distance to Raffles City, many shops, restaurants and public places, train stations. Hotel staff very helpful -- one downer was I checked in late at night and asked for an adaptor plug, but was told that housekeeping staff already off so only got it the following day. Fast internet connection in the room, so works well for business. Hoteltravel.com reservation worked well; reservation in order and fully documented when I checked in; only had to show them my voucher. Considering location, facilities and service, this hotel well worth staying in and coming back to. I surely will, and have in fact endorsed the hotel to some friends who are going to Singapore soon.

the staff were great very nice and friendly but the rooms certainly could do with a revamp as it is listed as a 4 star hotel also there was a small collony of flys in the bathroom close to the drains. i guess u get what you pay for either which way the hotel was very facilitating towards us as all restaurants were closed due to the chinese new year but we got food at hotel restaurant and also checked out late so i have no major complaints. i would rate it as 3 star when it comes to room quality but 4 star if the staff are concerned they were really nice.

The Allson was all HotelTravel.com said it was and more. It was perfectly located with easy access to transportation and taxis ( very very inexpensive) were plentiful and easy to get. I would definitely return to this hotel any time. The Buffet breakfast was very good with asian and western food choices. The lunch and even buffets were also good and very reasonable, though there is not much variety from day to day. The only advice for the restaurant I would make is that they note when MSG will be used. If you are allergic to it, it would be wise to ask if it has been used - normally they do not, but on occasion they do.

Strategically located, close and very convenient to almost anywhere. There is 7-11 next to the hotel and on the other side is a food court. Although the Food Court next to hotel is pretty bad, but it is extremely convenient for the first few hours when you just arrived from a long hauled airplane. Otherwise, I would rather take a leisure 5 minutes walk to Bugis Junction where the choice is unlimited. Don't forget to check out the National Library across the street and a St. Joseph church 2 buildings away for daily afternoon mass. I would definitely come back.

The hotel is ideally located for the Singapore facilities I wanted to use. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. The room was quite noisy, especially between rooms, and the bed was exceptionally hard, even by Asian standards! Breakfast menu was extensive and the food was fresh and well-prepared. I will not make this hotel my first choice when next I visit Singapore.
