The hotel is only a few paces from the Waverley train station. We arrived earlier that the check-in time and the hotel staff arranged to keep our luggage for us so that we could go sightseeing. Just across the hotel is the terminal of the city sightseeing buses. We immediately got tickets which was valid until the following day. The hotel is also beside a LUSH shop so we can smell the fragrance in the hotel. We were given a room at the first floor and the view of the park was just fantastic. Although our room overlooks the high street, the noise level was tolerable. Our room was comfortable. ...

Although our room overlooks the high street, the noise level was tolerable. Our room was comfortable. There was a TV but we didn't use it because watching the activity from our window was more entertaining. We did use the hotel safe in the reception. Since it was my husband's birthday that night, we made reservations in the hotel's restaurant. The experience was magical! They gave us a table with a view of the Edinburgh castle. The food was delicious, the wine good, the atmosphere pleasant, and the staff solicitous. It was certainly a birthday to remember! Since the hotel is in the high street, there were a lot of shops in the vicinity - shopping is so accessible. The breakfast, which is included in the hotel rate, is your typical English breakfast except that haggis was also served. I was adventurous enough to try it. It was great.
The only sad thing about our trip is that we had to leave the next day! We will definitely have to visit Edinburgh again and we will surely stay at the Waverley!

DIDNT LIKE THE IDEA THAT THE WINDOW IN THE ROOM WAS DARKENED AS U DIDNT KNOW WHAT THE WEATHER WAS O/SIDE OR IF IT WAS DAY OR NITE-bathroom was lovely and big but it was very cold as there was no heating except the towel rail

The Bathroom was definitley in need of a refurb. The tiled wall in the bath seemed as if it may fall in!! The Floor tiles and grout was dirty. We were 4 adults (male) in a 2 room family room which suited us great. The front desk staff were very friendly. Hotel was an great location.
