The dramatic landscape and ancient history in Albufeira provide an interesting mixture of attractions to see whilst on holiday. Modern attractions include the Zoomarine Park, which is a great place to see and learn about marine life such as dolphins and sea turtles. Fisherman Beach is a popular place in the summer to enjoy the soft sands and blue waters.

Fisherman’s Beach
Locally known as ‘Praia dos Pescadores’, Fisherman’s Beach is one of the best and most popular with great leisure activities and warm waters perfect for swimming. There are a plethora of restaurants, bars and eateries around the area as well as some great street stalls selling local handicrafts. During the summer, the beach can become crowded but the atmosphere is fantastic.

Guia Parish
Positioned only a short drive from Albufeira’s town centre is the beautiful grounds of Guia Parish. The Parish has survived since Roman times and has some impressive structures still standing including chapel’s ‘Our Lady of Guia’ and St Luis. In recent years, Guia has become renowned for its annual charcoal chicken festival, which involves festivities and food for locals and visitors.

Sao Sebastian Church
This beautiful church was built in the 18th century and is a superb example of Baroque styled architecture. The interior has numerous artworks from local artists from the time of construction as well as some impressive statues of famous saints. The church also offers great seaside walks along the coastline with spectacular views of the surrounding area.

Torre Do Relogio
The Torre Do Relogio (Clock Tower) is one of Albufeira’s most famous landmarks and offers fantastic uninterrupted views of the city. The working tower still chimes every hour and is a great site to visit whilst in the city.

Zoomarine Algarve
The Zoomarine Algarve Park is a fantastic educational and entertainment centre dedicated to the preservation of the environment. There are incredible displays of marine life including dolphins, sea turtles and seals. The centre concentrates on teaching people about the animals and promotes animal awareness.
