Jan III Sobieski is a slightly run-down business hotel that probably once was a five star but now looks a little worse for wear. When we arrived late at night the concierge apologetically told us the hotel was full due to a conference and our booking for the first night could not be honored. They offered a room at the Ibis budget hotel. Only after around 15 mins of heated discussion with management did they agree to give us a room at the Mercure Grand hotel, and the next day they sent a car to pick us up and take us back to Jan III Sobieski.
The rooms were OK and clean. Location of the hotel is quite central and has excellent connections with trams and buses. We had the hotel breakfast once and it was in all honesty pretty awful. Given the price we paid though, I think the hotel gave value for money.
