I thoroughly enjoyed my stay but was disappointed at being able to easily communicate directly with the resort and that the travel agent was not able to pass my request for transportation from the Port to Resort...

Dakak Beach Resort is nicely laid out with much potential for growth. Cottages / Cabins are set nicely in the hillside terrain facing the ocean beach front and the view is splendid with all the care given to the lawns, flowers, plants and trees. Getting to the resort can be difficult. Motorized tricycles are the main source of transportation from the Dipolog Airport, or Ocean Port Areas. There are no taxi cabs operating in Dipolog, or Dapitan City. The long trek to Dakak is mostly on a single lane road. It is not advised to attempt to reach the resort by motorized tricycle. There are some uphill climbs which a majority of the motoriced tricycles would be unable to ascend. Then there is the road construction area where it is very muddy and a very easy area to get stuck in. Dakak Resort does have a shuttle service which can be utilized. We enjoyed the food selections which were professionally prepared and served. However, their restaruant is an outdoor setting with a nice view of the sea and the beach, but be prepared to deal with ants on the chairs, tables and eventually on you. If the staff so desired, they could easily resolve the i

I loved the area, although it was a bit secluded. Staff was friendly, happy and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Meals were good and priced right. Island of Mindanao has a bad rep. however I would disagree with this. I recommend this place to anyone desiring something other than the usual resorts.
