El Nido Resort Lagen Island is set in a lush forest, with a magnificent view of the El Nido sunset. The sprawling grounds cover more than four hectares. El Nido Resort Lagen has 'water cottages' built on stilts on both sides of its cove, 'beachfront cottages' with a view of the entire cove and of the sunset, 'forest rooms' and 'forest suites' built on the fringes of a tropical forest.

Rated #2 for all Palawan hotels
This is the last paradise on earth!!! I have been to the Caribbean, Hawaii and Thailand - and none of these come close to El Nido, Palawan in the Philippines. Great view everywhere, good people, great excursions....

The service is excellent, the staff the friendliest and most professional that I have seen in a long time. El Nido's ecofriendly mission is very impressive. The simplest touchest (umbrellas all over the place, hand written notes on leaves left during turndown service, assigned seating and snacks at the airport terminal) made the stay more meaningful. Palawan is a site to see but the other asset is its people.
During our stay it felt like we had the place almost to ourselves, and that was a bonus! Safety of the guests were a priority and I felt like they knew where we were at all times. I highly recommend staying at a water cottage at Lagen Island. I only wish they had a larger CD selection to borrow since there are Bose systems in the rooms (yup, that's my only "complaint").

What we liked most was the location and the opportunity to dive
The forest suite was larger, however due to its location within the resort could be noisey at times. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food choices were very limited and the same buffet each eavening and lunch time was very repetative at times, also the Ala-carte meun was very poor if used as an alternative, western tastes were not really accomadated, however the food quality was good. This is not a place to go to for a raving night life. This is our second visit to the resort.
