i had a problem during check-in cause they gave me a more expensive room than the one i reserved for not only that they gave us a room on the 2nd floor with the view of the roof, they did transfer me to a room with a view after i complain but that really cause delays and unnecessary stress on my part so much so that i didn't enjoy my stay there

I was in the reception 2pm but the room is not yet available, I was ask to wait for more than 30 minutes before I was able to get in the room. I also did not like my room location, there are nothing to see outside except the roofings of the hotel. I expect to get a room fronting the sea side but unfortunately it was not.

The room was very poor but clean and looked in need of modernisation. The pool area was off limits due to the recent Typhoon and needed work. The staff are friendly. It was very dissapointing, I was also given a smoking room, I didnt get the Sea view requested. Never again. the only saving grace was the bed was comfortable. Imelda Marcos was there for a fashion shoot the week i stayed, I am sure she didnt stay i an old room. I would not recomend this hotel.

I've stayed at the Plaza over a number of years based on the simple facts that I like to look out over Manila Bay, I like the spa, and much of what I do in the Metro area happens near this hotel. I must say that its really lost its luster since my first visit in the early 90s. I know that there's an ongoing makeover taking place, but my room was pretty shocking considering the fact that I paid about 15% higher room charge over my last summer's room price and my room had not been remodeled since the mid 70s!!!! Chipped ceramic in the tub and sinks, badly soiled carpet and chairs, and other room furnishings that were tattered and weathered made for a pretty sad visual for a place that was one of the better hotels in Manila at one time. With hotel construction going on from 9 am, management should give guests who still elect to stay here a room cost break. I'll still stay at the Plaza in the future, and hope that it will regain some of its charm with this new facelift effort. I would also like to say that the hotel management should remove the tennis icon from its list of hotel features. The on-site tennis facility is now being used as a small convention and wedding center. Although you can still play tennis as a guest, you'll have to drive to a private club near the domestic airport to do so.

The hotel location is excellent with great swimming pool. However, the rooms are outdated and in dire need for renovation. The bathroom fixtures really shows its age and lacks ventillation.

The rooms are a little old but they should be renovated next year. Everything else are very good and they have a lovely pool area.

I lke the place but i was surprise coz this hotel charges for the slippers and toothpaste/toothbrush. Unlike in other 5 star hotel here in manila - it is given as complimentary.

The Plaza Hotel was okay, first day, we checked the room, the floor was dirty, hair clips all over the floor, the toilet cover, wasn't clean, when we lifted up the bed cover there was used tissue paper on the bed, the bed cover wasn't new, then we complained, the manager reacted really friendly and fast, got the deluxe room, wasnt' bad, the staff were friendly, the breakfast is too expensive, and not good at all, not even the worst restaurant in where i live right now serve such an expensive, not edible food, rather going to a turo-turo canteen and spend 200 Pesos and you will eat very good. The only five star in that hotel was the lobby.

This hotel was pretty good, for location pretty close to the airports and shops, but not within walking distance, be prepared to pay a lot for a hotel Taxi for short distances. The swimmingpool was beautiful, bar service around the pool is very slow, in fact pretty non existent... food is good though. There is a marquee in the car park that is hired for functions, very disturbing during the night as it is very loud. Also if someone has a function during the day the microphone they use is so loud, so when you are in a room over looking the carpark you hear everything, had to complain a few times, particularly when they were testing the soundsystem at 7am!!! Try and request a pool view room when booking. The Spa is wonderful, the girls who work there simply fantastic. The head zone hairdresser's is pretty good also. Overall I would rate this hotel 7/10.

Don't like that they questioned us at the door as to the cost of the food, snacks, etc that we bring in - only allowed $700 P. I pay for my room - I should be allowed to bring whatever I want. I also ask for 2 Adjacent rooms when I book, at least 2 on the same floor - this request was ignored - 2 different floors (11 and 3).

Certainly this hotel cannot compare with other Westin's that I have stayed in at Melbourne or Kuala Lumpur. It is a little run down and dated and needs some money spending on it to bring it up to standard. The bathrooms were certainly something out of the 70's! I thought that the staff on the front desk could be a little more friendly and more staff at key times would be helpful as I have never had to queue as long to get served anywhere else. The pool area was lovely and the location of the hotel was good, stunning views of the Bay and city at night, certainly a highlight! Good for going out to Malate/Ermita and convenient for siteseeing to Intramuros. Not the best hotel in this category but I would certainly stay there again if I went to Manila. After all I went to see the country/city not the inside of a hotel room!

The room was very large with a good view, however it needed renovating and the bedside tables were dusty. The staff were very nice and allowed us to have a late check out which was fantastic. I would stay there again.
