The Pan Pacific is in a perfect location for the tourist to manila. many fine restaurants and bars in the area. I stayed in a pan pacific king room which was well worth the upgrade for the extra space. Large, excellant views and well kept, turn down service had a lovely touch of home made sweet cakes. Staff could not be more friendly or helpfull. ( i nedded a charger for my phone, all had been let out so one of the butlers lent me his own) I will be staying here again on my next visit....

An excellent hotel but a little overpriced for the Philippines. Staff was very friendly, room was clean and the facilities (pool, gym, etc) were excellent. The location is a bit of a turn-off as it's right in the middle of beggar central and you couldn't walk anywhere without a half-dozen beggars asking for money. It's a lot more sketchy of a neighborhood than Makati where I've stayed before. It is however located close to Robinson's Shopping Mall and several decent restaurants. My biggest complaint with the hotel itself is that they advertise free internet in the rooms but it isn't. They charge $18 a day for the service. For the amount of money you pay, they should provide this for free. I have no regrets about choosing the Pan Pacific but in the future I'll probably stay in Makati again

The hotel was beautiful, the staff fantastic, helpful, and we felt they always had our best welfare at heart. Due to the venue, it was also quite a culture shock- I'm not saying an unpleasant one! I would reccommend the Pan Pacific. The wasted view and room set up stopped it from being excellent; nothing to do with service or cleanliness. We met some fantastic staff and had really good contact; others did seem a little distant and impersonal; I realise eye contact may be a cultural issue. Excellent- handy to everything. Vehicles everywhere plus hotel transport to and from airport available- at a rip-off price if coming from airport for first time however!! We expected it as we were not used to currency or cost of things!

The area can be very shady, especially at night. The staff are hit and miss in regard to friendliness.

I think the hotel is undergoing some renovation at the moment but the staff will not simply admit it as if it was some sort of secret.
I did not see any proper reception desk during my stay and I checked in at the concierge as soon as you enter the hotel . I think it was the first time in my life.
Besides I did not like the hotel design with the restaurants (only japanese and korean by the way) reachable only through the main lobby and located outside the hotel building.
They also charged me 5% to put my meal bill on my room's account.(!??)
The location is not so bad being near Robinson Department Store but the area is full of beggars (especially children ) without proper pavement and forcing you to walk in the street at your own risk with Manila's traffic..
I will not return to this hotel..Hyatt or Diamond Hotel in the same area are much better value for money.

My only real complaints involve problems common to most 5-Star hotels, worldwide. (1) Pan Pacific, Manila, is not far from the international airport. After checking out early on a Saturday (5:00 a.m.), I asked for a metered taxi to the airport. The Concierge fulfilled my request, but pressured me to take the hotel's transportation (a car, similar in size to a taxi). When I asked for the fee for transportation, I was quoted 900 Pesos. I declined. My taxi fare to the airport was 110 Pesos. Why do hotels insist on inflating their prices by 800% for incidental services? It makes me angry! (2) The cost for a can of Coke, in the room, was 95 Pesos. At the nearby convenience store, the price for the same item is 18 Pesos. Other than these complaints, the hotel is very nice, has excellent security, and is close (walking distance) to a major shopping mall and numerous eating places.

Most of all, there are seldom reasonable hotel in Manila. However this one is more than normal one among the city. If you have enough money to pay, it worth to pay here. Only one thing I was't satisfied was check-out delay. But otherwise, everything so fine.

A first class hotel extremely well located for tourism and nightlife in the Ermita district. Superb rooms and a vast range of of coffee shops and eating places in the lobby or in the immediate vicinity.
I loved the rooftop bar which is great for watching the sunsets ... but the food up there was not very good in that context. It was over complicated and poor value.
Only stayed a short time so it would be unfair to say much more ... but I would stay there again.

What I liked most about the experience at the Pan Pacific was the service. Very professional. Even though the room seemed like an average room, I felt comfortable and pampered more so than at other hotels that I have stayed at before. I would definitely stay there again.
