Manila Hotel embodies a rich tradition of elegant living, fine dining and gracious service that goes back over 80 years. Here the city celebrated its most important events and the world's personages held court and left their mark. At once ageless and historic, Manila Hotel has always been everything a hotel should be: comfortable and gracious and a home away from home.

the breakfast was a laid out special, one could not ask for a better one. the menu for lunch and dinner were great. I had a medical problem with breathing and the hotel responded with their house doctor and nurses and did a swell job, the hotel over-all could best be summed up as the very best, my family and i were greatly empressed, thanks to all for a stay i will always remember. ...

Despite this hotel going through renovations, it was a great place to stay. The staff is friendly and responsive. The service was outstanding! Everything was perfect and far exceeding my expectations. Even when I became ill, this hotel shined due to the onsite medical clinic and they even went so far as to pick up my prescription medications. Wow...nice!!!!

I did enjoy my stay at the Manila Hotel for 5 days and 4 nights. However, i was disappointed when we arrived in our room, one of the beds was not not equipped with a comforter, i had to call the linen department. And another thing, they didn't provide a bath robe for 2, they just leave a bath robe for one person only, considering that we booked for two. I love their breakfast buffet, and the attendants are friendly. Our overall stay is quiet good.

Stayed here on two different scenarios 1) Philippines Tour, 2) Just a two night stay. On the personal two night stay, i thought it was so much better. The breakfast was decently cooked with a fusion between american and filipino dishes. The lobby decoration was fantastic, and the staff was very helpful.

I really like this hotel, and try to stay whenever I can afford it in Manila. It's location is great as far as I'm concerned, as it is within walking distance or short cab ride of the Bay area Restaurants and entertainment, but set in a very safe and secure Park area. The Lobby is 'Old World' and beautiful, as well as a gathering place for many of Manila's families and society- fuun just to watch.
The bell staff and room staff are great-- only downside this trip was that two of the elevators were under repair. causing some delays-- but nothing to spoil the time.

Main problem or difficulty when you stay in MNL hotel must be to hire a car for me. Before there was a cooperative taxi drivers group just beside the hotel providing a very reasonable and hospitable service. But they were gone due to some reasons. Instead, the hotel made a contract with the NISSAN rent-a-car service right now since probably last Feb or March, but it is unbelivably expensive. That is only the headache for me while staying in the Manila Hotel.

The rooms & lobby are actually quite nice (traditional Filipino theme), although the breakfast was disappointing. The staff were ok, but not outstanding, which is odd for the Philippines. Cheaper than the 5-star hotels in Makati, but the level of service showed it. Swimming pool looked somewhat old. It was still worth the money though. The lobby & rooms were nicer than some of the 5-star hotels in Makati.

Still ok, but parts getting old: kazebo next to pool is almost completely broken, toilet is getting really old, no ventilation/exhaust in bathroom. Ilan Ilang cafe (breakfast room & restaurant) is really too cold to sit comfortably due to the airco settings. The food is good though and the staff is friendly.
Overall the price has gone up too much.

Hotel has character - especially the lobby. Quiet - at 'port' end of hotel, where our rooms were located. Interconnecting room for our children was a big plus. Good room size - nicely furnished - also with a bit of character. Coloured bathroom suite a bit outdated - however, all facilities worked! Wide choice of dishes for breakfast, which was excellent. Friendly restaurant staff. Surprisingly quiet in pool and garden area - as shielded from road traffic by the hotel building. Rizal Park just across the road. We will stay again if the price is as reasonable as this time - £50/night for twin room inc. breakfast.

I've just booked this hotel for 1 night only before my departure.
Before my stay, I've checked many reviews, and guessed that it would be an average hotel among the other 5 star hotels. After my stay, I need to tell you that it was a little bit worse than my guess.
The hotel is old, and the thing I and my wife laughed is the name looks "ANILA HOTEL" in the night looking from the front because the light of "M" is out of order.
The room facility service is terrible. We call room service since there was only 1 set of toothbrush and paste, but ended up waiting for more than 20 mins and calling 3 times in total.
The rate is not so expensive as the other 5 star hotels, but guessed this might be the reason... the workers might be too much busy or too much lazy... I don't know actually but guessed this hotel does not train employees or does not cost for them. Anyway, this event made us very uncomfortable.
But the other employees are very nice. The waiters in the buffet was very friendly and volunteered to take pictures for us when I hold the camera. And the doorman explained how to get to the airport in a courteous manner.
And it's a little far if you would like to go to the restaurants outside the hotel. When we went to look for it in the night around 10 pm, it looks a little bit dangerouns. So, if you think it seriously, you'd better choose another hotel The conclusion is it's worse than expected, but the rate is cheap and no problem if you regard this hotel as 3 star or 4

The AGE of this hotel is obvious with its furnishings. The service of its staff is satisfactory, except for the pool attendant who seems to require guest relations orientation. Compared to other hotels that I have used through your service, I do not think that what I got is worth what I paid to this hotel.

The only complain I could say is the noise within the hotel itself. Sound proofing of the hotel is totally not good since we could hear sounds from vehicles, ships & even through corridors. But the room service is excellent as well the hotel staff are friendly.....

Working in the construction industry especially in Iraq where I am at the present, it is most important to find a hotel to truly relax while on R&R from the stress of working in a War Zone. The Manila Hotel truly fits this requirement with its vast gardens and friendly service in an historic area of Manila. I personally like the homely atmosphere and the elegance of a old yet unique hotel with lots of history. I have no hestitation in recommending the Manila Hotel to anybody who wishes to relax in a pleasent and elegant atmosphere at a resonable cost.

We had our wedding reception at this hotel in 1997. Back then, it was very nice and classy. So when we went there to stay and celebrate our anniversary this year, we were very disappointed to see that the quality of service and rooms have drastically deteriorated!
