"Makati Shangri-La has far exceeded my expectations. Based on two previous stays at this hotel, I was familiar with the hotel's set up and knew the level of service to expect from staff. Christmas time being a popular time to go to the Philippines, I was surprised at how the hotel and staff could still better itself. There were even activities in the hotel organized especially for the season. Another family member who had tried to save by staying at another five star hotel regretted having done so. Makati Shangri-La will be a hard act to follow for any hotel! Our room compared to those where we have stayed at premium hotels in Canada, USA and Europe was top of the list in elegance, layout, fittings and furnishing. There was practically nothing that one expected to find in a hotel which was not catered for. On top of excellent service from staff, it came with a smile. I felt safe to out even at night and so close to the shops that the nuisance of waiting for a cab was dispensed with."
