The hotel is hidden in one corner of armita. The area is very run down and the hotel is in bad shape. I was being assigned to a room which is very noisy. The hotel has very poor sound proof window. You can hear the slightest noise from the street. The room is as good as only a budget hotel but charging US$86 per nite really rip me off!!! I will never go back there anymore!!!!!

Very kind and helpful staff. Excelent service. Great food. Good taxi/transfer service. Will book back to this hotel during march-april 2008 with my wife aswell. This price/good and clean room! All necessary available! Seldom seen so kind/helpful staff anywhere although started my travelling round the world 1973. Friendly/Good service by staff. They were professionals. Exellent/good food. My room (409) very clean and good staff service. Got all information what needed. Very good price to stay LaCorona. Good food, kind/friendly staff, good service....etc A little far away from Asian Mall but their transfer/taxi service good to this problem. Sometimes hotel`s car occupied but taxi ordered by respetion helped to this problem. All ok.

For the breakfast, I suggest you offer more fresh fruit, rather than a cooked one.Without being offered the hotel facilities, how can one make use of them ? The swimming pool would have been excellent had it been offered. As a first time visitor to the Philippines, I know that staff are not aware of one being here for the first time, however, the staff must take the time to ask the visitor if there are special needs required. I was not told of the possibility either of internet usage. The friendliness of the staff is excellent. The value paid for the room could have been less. However, when a visitor is tired, one does not always at that moment realize that matters could have been better. Thank you at any rate for the use of the room. I might well need a room again toward the end of May 2007.

The first room I stayed at was really nice and huge, but the toilet didn't work. I changed rooms and the bathroom sink leaked and the in-room safe didn't work. The hotel only has 1 elevator and good luck trying to get a ride on it. If you are above the 3 floor it's workout trying to get to your room. The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. The area of the hotel is really scary at night, I wouldn't recommend walking down some dark alley by yourself at night. The hotel staff were really friendly and restaurant was nice, but I can't recommend this hotel. There has to be nicer hotels near by.

I have used this hotel twice now, both times when in transit to the south of the country. I originally chose this hotel because I had a spare day to visit Intramuros, and the fact that I rebooked this time indicates a fair level of satisfaction. The glasses provided were sparkling clean; this is usually a good yardstick by which to judge the standard of housekeeping, and it was. There are enough money changers in the immediate vicinity to keep each other honest (well, up to a point), and Robinsons, Manila is very close.

Typical, 3-star hotel in a large South East Asian city. Don't expect the same standard as in North America but, considering the location (Manila), etc., you are also not paying North American prices. The room was reasonably clean (quite clean by Philippine standards). It's an older building (the elevator is straight ouf the movies LOL!) located on a busy street. Noise level is typical for such a location. Karaoke-bar or whatever it was shuts down, thankfully, about 1AM. Crank up the AC and you should be fine. Excellent restaurants nearby but walking there is an excercise in panhandler and "entertainment lady" avoidance. Nothing too serious to worry about but disconcerting to someone new to Manila. Grab a cab (inexpensive) and you could be in a more upscale area within minutes. Staff is quite friendly and helpful, English no problem whatsoever. Breakfast buffet was good with a decent selection of Western and Philippine dishes. This is by no means a "Sheraton" but a decent balance between comfort and price. We always felt secure in the hotel and would return anytime.

The hotel itself is fine, but the location is Manila's red-light district, so you get harassed by workers and beggars every time you step outside. Only way to avoid this is to have the hotel staff hail you a cab every time you leave--silly since so much is within walking distance.

No hot water, always luke warm.. Air Conditioner too small for room. Staff member walked into room after just one knock, without waiting for response, at 7 am one morning, causing us stress and loss of sleep. Lift is old and slow. Stairs a better option.

We were only at the hotel for one night (and arrived late that night, at that), but the room was fine and the staff seemed nice. It wasn't the most elegant of places, but was well-located and suited our needs.

Very nice hotel, very clean, professional and friendly staff, excellent position only 5 min walk from Manila Bay (the sunset there is an unforgettable experience) and Rizal Park; on the nearby there are a lot of funny bars and clubs and the area is safe and cheap.

This Hotel is in the middle of some amusement areas, bars and other hotels. It is a nice small hotel with very friendly staff. If I look again for a place to stay in Manila I would choose this hotel again.

One problem, no message light for the phones. I missed a very important phone call and the front desk failed to notify me about the message. That needs to be fixed. When I called to check messages I was told "no messages". But then I double checked with the person I was suppose to meet and yes they had left a message at the front desk for me. That was only one complaint but it caused me to miss a very important meeting. That is something that needs to be fixed with this hotel. The staff was very friendly.

The hotel is located along the famous Manila Bay, with a beautiful scenery during the sunset. You will never have a problem explaining to a taxi driver for the location, just pronounce it as 'de-mond'...
