We always stay at the Dusit when in Manilia since it has an excerlent location and clean facility. However, this time I found one thing I did not like. They have a nice looking garden in the center. It was open so I ventured in to take pictures. I was told to leave the area since it was not a public area. Why have a nice garden and not share it with the guest. You don't light a candle and put it under a basket so why have a beautiful garden and hide it from the public....

The hotel is newly renovated, but our room got only a "brush up", so we were a bit disapointed, because last time we were staying in the hotel we've got all the noise of the renovation and this time we did not see much of a difference in the room. The best of all is the Location of the hotel.

The Dusit has had a make-over since my last visit 2 years ago. The rooms and common areas (lobby, restaurants, etc) are MUCH nicer. The price went up dramatically, too. This is a pleasant hotel, within a stone's throw of several other pleasant hotels, all of which are charging rates (even after discount) that are embarrassingly high when compared with typical costs on the local market. To put this in perspective, a typical college graduate in the Philippines earns as much in his first year of work (after taxes), as you will spend to stay in the least expensive room for three days in this hotel.
It's not as if Manila has suddenly been overrun with foreign businessmen - net foreign investment in the Philippines is a tiny fraction of investment in other ASEAN countries. The lobby and restaurant were thinly populated when I was there. I don't understand where these absurd, even unconscionable, prices come from.Prices for quality hotels in Makati are entirely out of synch with local costs, so I have begun looking for other ways to visit Makati while paying an acceptable price for appropriate quality.

For a 5 star rated hotel, their attention to details is sorely lacking. Car transport for airport was not arranged properly, no wake up call that was requested ever occurred, have food served with no place setting, bathroom for a renovated hotel looked like it was just painted over and there was mildew in the tile. I have two more bookings made for September here which I will probably cancel and go somewhere else. Nothing special in the room all standard in lower class hotels. Windows were filthy. Specified airport transfer needs at checkin. At checkout time, the transfer information was not correct and had to wait while they wanted to charge me more than their already over priced service. Never received the wakeup call I requested at checkin time of 2:30am. Too robotic, everything sounds like speech when dealing with the guest, nothing sincere. Food was good, serving of food and drinks was not coordinated so food would arrive before utensils were on table, etc. Windows in the room were filthy inside and out, bathroom had mildew stains present even though renovated within 6 months.

We always stay at the Dusit when in Manila. The staff is always friendly and the hotel is clean and modern.We had the lunch buffet and rated it excellent. Was one of the best buffets we we had. The package included breakfast which we could not use since we had to leave too early in the morning, so the hotel prepared box breakfasts for us. The price to stay at the Dusit has increased a lot since we started staying there but the prices are average for the area and quality of the hotel. The location is excellent. The only negative comment that I can say is that they should have chairs in the lobby. Every one of our needs were taken care of. They even packed a box breakfast since we had to leave early morning to catch a flight. One of the best buffets we had. Easy to get to and near shopping and the greenbelt area.

Tried to get a room with King Bed and was told there were none in the hotel available in either Smoking, which I didn't want but would have taken, or in Non-Smoking.The hotel was recently renovated. The renovations are nothing that would not be found in an average priced hotel elsewhere in the world. Rating of 5 star is very over-rated. Politeness is a standard by any good hospitality company. Sincerity in that politeness is also a standard. Here at Dusit, everyone acts polite but it is robotic, not sincere. Good area which is why I book the hotel. Food quality is good, service is not up to standards for a 5 star rated hotel. Bathroom had mildew stains, evidence of water leaks even though this room was a renovated room.

I was made to feel welcome by the staff, who must have been informed that this was not my first stay at the hotel. Breakfast was exquisite, service could not be faulted. The recently-upgraded decor was lovely and very tasteful. My name was on the flat screen TV in my room which really personalized my stay, though when this appeared on the screen, with soft music meant to wake me up at 7am on my second morning, was most unwelcome. The location, so close to all the shops in Makati, was ideal, and the sniffer dog at the entrance was adorable.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Dusit, its central location in Makati, very close to Glorietta Mall is its number one distinction!! Inside, the staff are very polite and the lobby impressive. My two rooms were newly renovated Deluxe's, very spacious, clean and with a fantastic view. Was informed when making the booking that the hotel rooms were under renovation, I would not let this deter anyone from making a booking as I didn't see or hear anything that even suggested renovations were taking place! My one criticism would be that on check in I was informed that only one of my rooms was available immediately and that the second would become available in 3 hours, not so bad as I was with family, not so great if you've just come off a long haul flight.

This was our first stay with Dusit, and I must say we were impressed with the overall performance of both hotel and staff.
Checking in and out was swift and of a very proffessional level.
The possition of Dusit which is surrounded by shopping malls is an added bonus. I personally have difficulty in finding fault with Dusit with the exception of their airport transfer service, which costs P950 when a taxi off the street outside is only P200. If ever in Manila in the future we would most definately stay again.

A feature that this hotel had that I have not seen before was an emergency flashlight, kept at full charge. A nice feature if ever needed. Our schedule prevented us from using the complimentary breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. Facilities were very good. A good deal for the money. The only problem I had was a window was opened a bit and could not be closed as some noise could be heard. I did not report it as it did not bother me much. The location of this hotel is perfect for both business and leisure traveler. Rooms need some work for sure. The bathroom needs lots of work. Housekeeping should do better job at cleaning around the corners and the ceiling. The Front desk staff is great! The food and service at the Cafe and Fiesta room is wonderful. I like to commend one of the Cafe servers on the excellent service she provided during my dinning experience. This Hotel has it all. The Lounge with Fiesta room entertainment, the Cafe with its nice free breakfast buffet, flower shop, Travel agency and a small bakery shop. They have a nice enclosed room in the lobby for smokers only. I would stay at this hotel again for sure! The 800 Pesos the Hotel charge for a ride to the airport is a little too much. They should reconsider this charge again especially for guests staying at the hotel. I give this Hotel a score of 8 out of 10.

Hotel Staff are friendly. Hotel location is excellent...just step away from SM and other Malls and Food Centers. My only concern is the condition of the room I was in. In Deluxe Room # 622 the carpet is noticeably dirty and really in need of steaming or replacement!! Got small insect bites every morning. Rooms really needs thorough cleaning. Hotel food at the Cafe was great. Restaurant staffs were friendly. Looking forward on staying at DUSIT Makati in the future.
My message to DUSIT management is: FIX and CLEAN Floor Carpet in every room!!!! Don't just let hotel guest know that DUSIT is a 5 star hotel..let them see and feel it!!!

What I liked most of the hotel is its location being so strategic and safe. It is very near shopping malls, restaurants of different types and business centers. What I liked least is the absence of comfortable seats in the lobby, at least near the front desk. The lobby is almost vacant and guest have to stand while staying at the lobby for some reasons.

Having spent a week at boracay prior to our stay in manila, we were little taken aback by the pollution we encountered in manila. Rooms were much smaller than the rooms that we stayed in in boracay also. and we much prefered the swimming pool in boracay too. The hotel itself was very good and up to standard, although the surrounding area diluted the general impression we have of the hotel.

I liked the location, everything u need is next door, good shopping and many good resteruants. They need to keep up on fixtures like the showerhead if u want to maintain a five star rating, the small things make a big difference.

The main thing that need to work on is the housekeeping. They don't really clean the room specially the bathroom. It's pretty awful. I was going to transfer hotel but my booking is for 2 weeks. The whole time of my stay wasn't very pleasant. I stayed at Hotel Niko in San Francisco California. I t was a very pleasant stayed. That's the reasoned I choose to stay at Hotel Nikko in Manila. But I was very dissapointed. Specially for the money I spent on it.

The hotel was in a very good location since all you have to do is cross the road and you are already in a big shopping centre. The room that I stayed in was a bit old and tired and in desperate need of new furnishings. Security is a bit disappointing since anyone can go into a guest's floor since the lifts didn't need a security pass to access guests floors.
I believe that I paid too much for this hotel and might have been a bit over-rated.

The price is OK for the area with the 2 buffet breakfasts included. The location is quite convenient to the airport, shopping, and the business district. While the lobby area is nice, the hotel rooms are in some serious need of remodeling.
