Pearl Farm Beach Resort (formerly the Barcelo Pearl Farm Island Resort) is a precious gateway where guests can revel in tropical pleasures, relish life's flavors and feast on nature's bounties. Pearl Farm Beach Resort (formerly The Barcelo Pearl Farm Island Resort) lies in a secluded cove on Samal Island off the coast of Davao City and was once a pearl farm, where thousands of white-lipped oysters, transported from the Sulu Sea, were cultivated for their pink, white and gold pearls. Today, Pearl Farm Beach Resort (formerly the Barcelo Pearl Farm Island Resort) beckons with the promise of a private retreat, where relaxing is a way of life.

We heard of the Pearl Farm from friends who advised us to stay at least for one night and we are glad we did. The resort is gorgeous and world-class. The beach is very clean and the blue waters are so clear you can see the colorful fishes and feed them too. The room is spacious and well maintained. The buffet is lavish and the food is plentiful and fresh. We suggest that guests visit the adjoining Malipana island where you can view (and rent) the holiday houses of the Floirendo family. Each house is well designed and is just stunning. The beach here is great for swimming and is quieter than th...

The only complaint came from an Australian guest who said most of the corals in the area are dead and therefore the snorkeling is not much fun. Otherwise this is a 5-star resort that's worth going to.

Having arrived in Davao for the first time, it was obvious of the cultural and economic disparity from the US. It was good to find that the resort at the Pearl Farm Beach was very clean, very safe from the activity in the city. The food was very acceptable. I really enjoyed having the Philippine fare. My fiancee', from Davao, really enjoyed the homemade icecream. Every night! Hehehehe
The pools were very nice and we took advantage of them daily. The resort was very peaceful. Just the thing to unwind from the rigors of the daily work ethic.
But, for me, the most enjoyable aspect of my stay was the very friendly staff. Anything I asked for was taken care of very promtly and courteously. I would go there again, if the chance came again.

A perfect resort with very good service and very friendly employees. If you like peace, nice swimmingpool(s) and a great sealife and don't like the busy townlife (many shops, bars and restaurants) this is the place to be. Our group (4 adults and 3 children) had a wonderfull and enjoyable time at Pearl Farm Beach Resort from july 30th till august 4th. If we go back to Davao we certainly stay again at Pearl Farm.

Cabin fairly basic but forest pretty. The island enjoys a get-away location - your website fails to mention the only access is by boat which runs only 3 times a day or to give the times of the boat. I turned up at the pier in davao (difficult to find) only to discover i had just missed the afternoon boat. Departure of the evening boat was delayed over an hour because it waited for guests arriving on a flight from manila. So i would not recommend the place if you are looking for a short stop-over near davao. Island location is exciting - trip over the water to reach the hotel is fun although quite long at 45 mins. This is more of a secluded retreat for people with time to slow down. It fits that bill well - the location is relaxing.

It was my second visit to this idyllic resort which has such a wonderful "get away from it all" location. The hotel complied with my special request that we should again stay in the same samal House as before. These wooden huts are built on stilts above the water and convey a romantic atmosphere whilst still having all the features required for a comfortable stay. Some of the staff remembered us from our stay in December, which is always flattering and made us feel like valued guests. The wonderful free form pool was nearly always empty and the resort never gave the impression of being overcrowded. Food was always delicious and plentiful with lots of choice and there was the option of evening entertainment in the intimate little karaoke bar which is open to the cooling breeezes. My fiance thinks that sitting out on our little wooden seat on the verandah of our Samil House watching the sun set before retiring to our beautifully appointed room is about as good as life gets.

We wish we had enough time to stay for a few more days longer! The hotel is very private, quiet, clean, - such a beautiful place to stay with family, or alone. Very picturesque! The boat ride from and to the city, its jungle-like hilly "backyard", its clean beaches, beautiful corals (great for snorkeling) and mangroves, its friendly staff and beautiful rooms - all these made our visit there perfect. My children, ages 15 and 8 love the place. We will definitely visit again and will stay longer next time!
