We enjoyed our stay in the White Sands, the staff especially the security guards make us feel very secured. The beautiful and well manicured garden and huge swimming pool are great, we just loved it. Just to sit and relax at the pool side is already a great relaxation for us....

The staff are friendly and courteous. The security practised by the guard is very good as he asked for yr room no. I went to neighbouring hotel and the security guard just let us pass through, no questions asked. The buffet breakfast is acceptable.

The White Sands is a family owned resort with great attention to detail. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.The restaurant served very good food. The prices were reasonable. The coffee was delicious. I did not have a single problem here. Everything was well taken care of and I would certainly go back there again.
The resort is a long way from everything. Taxi's are readily available at the gate it just takes awhile to get anywhere. This is not the resorts fault. very helpful staff, They will do anything to help you. Friday, saturday and Sunay the hotel provided live shows featuring local dances, very nice.

Air conditioner noisy, tap water undrinkable yet no drinking water provided for free, $40 USD charge to take guest into room, beach? can not swim in water, dirty-shallow. Milles from everything. Plenty of taxi's, trikes outside to rip the tourist off, jeepneys run frequently best option. Noise level,reasonably quiet except when people are using the pool.

The hotel needs a complete renovation, rooms are very basic. There is no beach as such, justa small portion which is unswimmable as it looks like a harbour for boats. The hotel is situated between two other establishments and is horribly noisy until late at night (obviously a disco is nearby). The only positive point is the service. Alltogether the standard is certainly not to the level of a 3 star hotel and does not justify the price asked.

All staff were warm and friendly.
Disliked noise from window aircon unit, no kettle in room, lack of shelves in bathroom, and bench for luggage.
I asked receptionist for metered taxis on two ocassions and yet taxi drivers refused to go by meter.Room is very spacious and nicely decorated. However, lack kettle for boiling water and lack of shelves in bathroom for toiletries. Also no bench for placing our luggage bags. Window aircon unit is extremely noisy. Swimming pool is nice but lack of gym and suana. Nice to sit at outdoor cafe for meals but disturbed by flies during the day. All staff were warm and friendly. Except for a small Korean mini supermart opposite, thare is nothing to explore. Resident band was ok.

This is a nice little hotel set in pleasant grounds overlooking the sea. Parts of the accommodation have recently been refurbished to a good standard and the overall feel of the place is small and familial. If you are looking for something with a more personal touch than a 5-star mega-hotel, then this is a good choice. You will need to accept though that the facilities are limited - the pool is good and there is a lifeguard on duty constantly, but the entertainment is limited and the food, whilst reasonable, is definitely not haute cuisine.
The highlights for us were:
The staff. With the exception of one receptionist who was a little surly, the staff were first class - very willing, very friendly and always prepared to go the extra mile to help
The diving. The dive centre is a subsidiary of the very professional and helpful Blue Coral organisation. Really good people, really good diving.
The environment. Well-kept gardens and rooms. If you plan to stay, ask for a courtyard room. There are new and well-specified. The older, 'superior' rooms are a little shabby. We took one as a day room because we arrived early and were really pleased to change
On the downside:
Day admissions. The hotel allows people to use its pool and other facilities for a day rate. This is most popular with locals at the weekend and, whilst the people are warm and friendly, they consider the words 'fun' and 'noise' synonymous, making it difficult to relax. The Hotel is close to airport and most of the shopping centers by taxi. The room was large with a nice balcony. A smal provision shop opposite the hotel where we can buy bottled water was most convenient. No internet facilities though. Friendly service and nice size pool
