A truly luxury experience in Cebu with Family who lives in the Phillipines on Luzon. Everything about the Tambuli Beach Club was like a "Dream vacation". There was a bit of noise in early evenings in outside hallways, but otherwise a most enjoyable stay....

My first impression was that the bathroom smelled of urine. Hello! The owner should try a little Lysol and scrubbing. The second impression is that the caulking around the bathtub needed to actually be there. I loved the lizards on the walls though, really. The staff was friendly, and the massage people were super. The waiters could not figure out what a knife was, and they did not have water ready when a person sat down. There was a 10% service charge on all orders, so the waiters were lazy and slow. I found that small things were irritating, such as the doors in the public bathroom needed to be shaved to actually fit into their spaces, and one had to walk to Tambuli West to use a very slow computer and pay a lot for the privilege. The coffee was great in morning at the buffet, and there was a refrigerator in the room, in case you would be smart enough to bring fruit or San Miguel Pilsen beer. Whole wheat bread is something the Philippinos do not get. No work out room is available. You can swim and dream of your gym at home. Ah...duh...have fun and try to be safe, because outside the guarded compound, the third world exits, really exists, and you could die for holding a cell phone.
Have a great trip, and help out someone in need. I fixed a waitress's teeth, four pulled, five filled, one three tooth denture replacement, and she still has five to be pulled. She was eighteen and had never been to a dentist in a land of sugar junkies. It cost me $175. She can smile again.

Most of the staff here finds a way to offer you prostitution or sell you something.
The climatisation in rooms is old and very noisy, and once turned off you ear the room next door. Everything is old and needs refurbishing
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hot water was not always there. The shower was a cheap plastic none ajustable spray. There is a little corner to buy survival hollyday item but that's all, cats every where and even chickens sometime. Who would resist to friendly staff. I drink only water so I am not a good judge of this but one have to buy water if you want to drink in your room and the room are not provided with a boiling kettle. There was a little bar near my room that sold nothing but when we arrived it was full of dirty plates, cups, spoons and towells. It was unchanged when we left. At the end of a dirt road full of pot holes. The only way out is to book a cab through the hotel otherwise you go into bargaining tricycle and what's not. No transport at all from the Hotel. You had to book a cab.
The restaurant is good but expensive.
Macktan island has nothing to offer, guest are stuck in their hotel and for this reason hotels should make great effort for more comfort at reasonable price and Cebu should improve the island.
The Hotel was only accessible thought a long pot holed dirt road.
We actually spent all are leisure time at the Shangri'las beach and swimming pool, despite having to take overpriced taxis forth and back and feel like squatters.
Corruption is high.
The localisation is excellent.

I had been in this Hotel for 13 nights. For the first 10 days, the phone of my room cannot receive any calls transfer. Furthermore, the room was not cleaned properly. Very dirty under the bed all time. Security services were very polite and professional with all costumers. Floor of my restroom never washed during my stay. Hotel Staff was polite.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff always happy to assist. Wish they would add breakfast even if it increases the cost, the buffet was about $6 US/person. The greatest irration was taxi service, the hotel has an exclusive contact with this cab company and they charge twice the normal rate. Find a cab driver of your own and get his cell number.
This was my 2nd visit. Take the superior room cost difference is nominal and it has a fridge which can save you big bucks on water,soft drinks and some snackes.

Me and my girlfriend had a very pleasant stay here but were a little disappointed with the beach area at Tambuli. However the staff were more than happy to transfer us to the Bohol Beach Club which is run by the same company. These resorts are very clean and has a good restaurant with many sports facilities.

Overall it was just OK. Various little things detracted from the enjoyment of the stay. Each room maybe a little different. In my case, windows that didn't close all the way. A loud A/C unit. Roosters nearby. A gap under the main door. Curtains that didn't block out the outside lights at night. I probably won't stay here again but would try West wing. I enjoyed snorkeling right off the beach.

Good value, friendly staff. I probably wouldn't stay here again because the beach is very small and not as nice as other places I've stayed (Boracay, Bohol). The nice thing was that we decided to stay in Bohol one night and they allowed us to transfer one night to the Bohol Beach Club (owned by same company).

The pools was quite good on Tambuli West which we could share with. The staff are very nice. We were disapointet about the beach which was very small. A little to far away from good shopping place but nice area.

These are the complaints and they are all small. The overall experience was very good. I would recommend it to others and would consider returning.
1. They do not have WiFi for internet as the advertisement suggests and they charge 200p for what an internet cafe would charge 20p. (I expect higer, but that is a lot!) Also, they only have 1 pc, so waiting was typical.
2. The beach was not much fun as we were constantly asked to buy something or do something. A booth where customers could go and sign up for activities and not be followed around would be a bit nicer.
3. The pools were closed about 1/2 the time for treatment.
One other thought, some sort of "night life" music and dancing, would be nice. Or a plan to go into town. We did find a mall that had music and dancing by asking at the desk.

The hotel facilities were ok, although no TV in rooms, pretty dissapointing particularly if it's raining there is nothing else to do but either sit in your room with no TV, sit at the bar or restaurant. The most annoying thing are the sales people on the beach, when you are trying to relax they crowd around you trying to sell massages, shell necklaces and boat rides, very annoying as they won't take no for an answer and keep pestering you, this happened daily. Nightlife is in Cebu City, pretty far about 30-40 minutes drive, the hotel can arrange a car to wait for you and bring you back for a very reasonable price - better then trying to get a taxi to take you there as they quite often refuse as it is quite far out. The shooting range here is pretty fun and the jetski's were also very good fun - a nice resort overall and I would give it a 7/10 rating.
