Montebello Villa Hotel is a picturesque villa on a 5-hectare hacienda, reflecting the richness and charm of Cebu's Hispanic heritage. Close enough to the busy city atmosphere yet distant enough to feel at ease with the world and with nature.

Rated #11 for all Cebu hotels
It was far enough from business areas to afford, a low noise atmosphere, within walking distance of shopping and other restuarants and shopping. The staff friendly and effecient, time allotted for the buffet breakfast was good, however I felt a server should have been at the table at all times to keep the dishes covered, to keep flies off the food and kept warm. Other than that my experience at the Montebello was very pleasant and I have recommended it to others. The pool and grounds area was clean and comfortable as well as our rooms. ...

overall our stay at montebello was very satisfactory.we were upgrated so our room was one of the newly renovated rooms. everything was new & the bathroom was nice & clean. Everyday our room was cleaned very well, we had fresh towels. If we needed something from housekeeping they were quick to accomodate our needs. we also had buffet breakfast which was ok but i would love to see more selection of fresh fruits & bread but overall it was good since we have a different set of buffet food everyday when we were there. i would recommend this to family with kids because of the safe location. near a mall & kids can run outside. checkin was quick & when we arrived early around 11am since the room was available they allowed us to check in early. i would recommend this hotel just make sire to request the newly renovated rooms.

Hotel was extremely helpful. One of the wait-staff even accompanied me to Kawasan Falls, an 11 hour round trip. I paid him for his help but significantly less than I would have had to pay otherwise. The hotel will arrange for transportation, but their own services are a little more expensive. To Ayala (sp?) mall cost me PHP100; a taxi back ran PHP ~60. Saw a roach my first night there, but never anything thereafter. Once you figure out the intricacies of traveling via taxi, bus, and Jeepnie, the hotel is close enough to everything. You wouldn't actually want to stay in the city centre. I was put off by the 'roach, but pleased with the hotel as a whole, and very pleased by the staff. If you're up at 1am, go to the front desk and say hi to a lovely woman there. She'll greet you with a smile and find you the help you need.

Superb Hotel but do not book a Deluxe Room!! it was awful. I upgraded to an Executive suite which was superb and the price difference was minimal. A wonderful most memorable hotel - just don't expect deluxe to mean deluxe.

The hotel was in a good location within walking distance of Gaisano Mall and ATMs. The hotel gardens were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Montebello Villa Hotel in Cebu is an older hotel, which by 21st century hotel standards is lacking - no inroom safes, internet connections, etc. However, the hotel is one of the most beautiful you can stay in ... the grounds are beautiful and the stafff is exceptional in their friendliness and desire to please their guests. If you want a hotel with all of the ammenities if the 21st century stay at another hotel... but if you want a hotel with charm and great staff who will welcome you and take care of you as friends and family then stay at the Montebello Villa!!

I've been wanting to stay at this hotel since I was a kid in the 80s. I had been fascinated by the garden setting and the Spanish influenced design of the place. While the hotel has still kept its garden ambiance, sadly, time has shown its effects. The hotel has stood still in the 80s and while it maintains its charms, it is outdated. It needs serious updating to catch up with the demands of the 21st century traveller.

State of hotel was appalling. In dire need of upgrading and renovation, especially the rooms. Cupboards and other furniture were looking some 20 - 30yrs old. Carpet was stained and dirty. Room service was impossible. They failed to clean and tidy up room after our 1st night stay. When we informed them later that night after we returned to our room, reply was they will do it tomorrow.
As towels were already thrown onto the floor for washing, we had to request for new ones. The staff delivered them with a very sour face.
Staff were not the least bit cheerful, and had no smiles.
