I booked and prepaid for a juniorsuiteat the Midtown Hotel for 2 nights I suffered a night and checked out the next morning, the place is a total "dump" not worthy of a 2 star rating I will never set foot in this place ever again.
I was given a room which had a 4ft by 2ft window so the place was dark and dingy, I immediately complained and was given a room "with windows" which allowed me to see how drab and worn the room was.
The bathroom was tiny I had to manouvre round the door to get in, the shower head fixed above the bath was fixed and didn't swivel so the only way to showre was with the hand held spray.
The airconditioner was inefficiend and noisy, the bedding was very worn and felt unclean, there was no in room safe.
This room was way way below even a 3 star rating.
There is only 1 restaurant I looked in on the first evening and was not impressed so I ate elswhere, the following morning I tried again but on viewing the breakfast buffet i ate some fruit and proceeded to check out of the hotel.

I have have seen this hotel make some great improvements over the past 24 months, the lounge & resturant area is excellent, breakfast buffet really nice. The staff is always friendly professional and approachable. Rooms are still looking old and tired, but clean, cable tv selection poor. If you like Cebu and like being in the city this is a great hotel, its got a mall and a major dept. store (Robinson's) so you can find just about everything you need with in walking distance or 5 mins. in a taxi. Great place for an experienced traveler to Cebu.

The standard of the room definitely wasn´t in correspondence with what is being expected from such a standard, the room was indeed over-priced.
Late chack-out was incredibly over-priced (4 hours for cca 50 US dollars).
Restaurant - poor quality of food and again over-priced. International food that was in the menu, didn´t correspond with international standards or requirements or international cuisine.

This Hotel is faded glory. The room was OK at best, but not worth what they charge. The Hotel has not been renovated at all since it opened in 1988 and shows it. I had to change rooms 3 times while there, first room the A/C didn't work right, second room, no Hot water in shower(plumbing problem), the Third room was finally OK. Also, the Hotel is overrun by cockroaches if that bothers you. Daylight streams in from aged worn out thin curtains, so if you're a late sleeper, bad news. Positive Notes: The Hotel restaurant, has really good food and a nice view, very comfortable, and you're likely to be the only one there, plus they have live entertainment every evening. Also, the staff go out of their way to accomodate your needs.

Basic accomodation in the city close to shops, restaurants, easy access of public transport, secure area,Average taxi fare from Mactan Airport is between P300 to P350 pesos. It is cheaper to get taxi from the airport than booking it from the hotel pick up which cost us P1200 pesos which I think was a riff off, apart from this, everything was ok, and all staff are helpful and polite.

Cebu Midtown Hotel is highly recommended to travellers on a low hotel budget. All the entertainment and food locations are just across the entrance of the hotel which includes a Casino for those hoping to make a quick buck! Taxis are a plenty and hotel staff will assist you to where you want to go. Most historical places are just within 15 minutes cab ride and shopping streets are every where from all sides of the hotel. If I am visiting Cebu again, this hotel will be my 1st choice.
